Product Overview
The AVPro Edge MXNet Evolution II AV-over-IP Decoder with Dante Encoding (AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W) receives AV-over-IP streams from MXNet EV2 encoders and outputs video via HDMI while simultaneously routing audio as a Dante network audio stream. This makes it the correct decoder choice for installations where displays are driven by the MXNet EV2 system and the facility also runs a Dante audio network for amplifiers, DSPs, or ceiling speakers. It is part of the MXNet Evolution II ecosystem and is not compatible with V1 MXNet systems. At $1,539, it provides both video distribution and professional audio networking in a single endpoint.
Product Description
In installations that combine AV-over-IP video distribution with Dante-based audio systems, the standard approach requires a separate Dante interface at each display location. The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W eliminates that extra device by integrating Dante encoding directly into the decoder. When a stream arrives from an EV2 encoder, the decoder outputs the video to the connected display via HDMI and simultaneously places the audio onto the Dante network, where it can be routed to any Dante-enabled amplifier, DSP, or speaker system on the network.

The decoder is managed through the MXNet Evolution II controller and participates in the same zone routing, scheduling, and control scheme as all other EV2 endpoints. Dante audio routing is handled through Dante Controller software, allowing audio engineers and AV integrators to manage video and audio distribution from their respective platforms independently. PoE+ powering simplifies installation by eliminating local power supplies at each decoder location.

Key Features
- Integrated Dante Audio Encoding — Places decoded audio directly onto a Dante network, eliminating the need for a separate Dante interface at each display location.
- HDMI Video Output — Delivers decoded video to connected displays via HDMI, supporting the full MXNet EV2 video quality and resolution.
- MXNet Evolution II Native — Fully compatible with all EV2 encoders and the MXNet controller; not compatible with V1 MXNet systems.
- PoE+ Powered — Draws power from the network switch, removing the need for local power adapters at decoder locations.
- Centralized Video Management — Configured and routed through the MXNet Evolution II controller alongside all other system endpoints.
- Independent Dante Audio Routing — Audio is managed through Dante Controller software, giving audio engineers direct control over speaker and amplifier routing.
- Single-Endpoint Solution — Combines AV-over-IP decoding and Dante audio output in one device, reducing rack space and installation complexity.
- Scalable Deployment — Suited for large facilities with both MXNet EV2 video and Dante audio infrastructure across multiple zones.
Typical Applications
- University auditoriums and performing arts centers running both MXNet EV2 video distribution and Dante audio systems
- Houses of worship with distributed video displays and Dante-based sound reinforcement
- Corporate campuses requiring coordinated video and professional audio routing to conference rooms and common areas
- Convention centers and event spaces with MXNet EV2 video and Dante amplifier systems
- Broadcast facilities integrating AV-over-IP video with Dante audio workflows

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this decoder require a separate Dante interface at the display location?
- No. The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W integrates Dante encoding directly, so the audio is placed onto the Dante network by the decoder itself without any additional hardware.
- Is this compatible with V1 MXNet systems?
- No. This decoder is part of the MXNet Evolution II ecosystem and is not compatible with V1 MXNet encoders or controllers.
- How is the Dante audio routed after the decoder outputs it?
- Dante audio routing is managed through Audinate's Dante Controller software, which runs independently of the MXNet controller and is standard in Dante-based audio installations.
- What encoder should be paired with this decoder?
- Any MXNet Evolution II encoder, including the AC-MXNET-1G-EV2 (standard), AC-MXNET-1G-AVDM-EV2 (with downmixing), or AC-MXNET-1G-AVDM-EV2 Dante encoder, is compatible.
- Can this decoder be used without a Dante audio network?
- The decoder will function for video output over HDMI even if no Dante network is present, but the Dante audio output requires a Dante-capable network and receiving devices to be used.
