Product Overview
The AVPro Edge MXNet 1G Evolution II Decoder (AC-MXNET-1G-DV2) is the standard base-model decoder for the MXNet Evolution II AV-over-IP system. It receives video and audio streams from any MXNet EV2 encoder and outputs them to a connected display via HDMI. Designed exclusively for the EV2 ecosystem, it is not compatible with V1 MXNet systems. For installations that do not require Dante audio output or TAA/USA procurement designations, the AC-MXNET-1G-DV2 provides the core MXNet EV2 decoding function at the lowest entry point in the EV2 decoder lineup.
Product Description
In a MXNet Evolution II system, every display location requires a decoder endpoint. The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2 fulfills that role for standard installations: it connects to the managed 1G network switch, receives the assigned stream from an EV2 encoder, and outputs video to the display via HDMI. EDID management, scaling, and zone routing are all handled through the MXNet Evolution II controller, which manages all encoders and decoders centrally.

This decoder does not include integrated Dante audio output — installations requiring Dante should use the AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W model. The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2 is the correct choice for standard display endpoints where HDMI output is sufficient and no additional audio networking is needed. PoE powering simplifies installation by eliminating local power supplies at each decoder location.

Key Features
- MXNet Evolution II Native Decoder — Receives streams from any MXNet EV2 encoder and outputs video to a display via HDMI; not compatible with V1 MXNet systems.
- HDMI Video Output — Delivers decoded video directly to the connected display using HDMI.
- PoE Powered — Powered via the network switch, removing the need for a local power supply at each decoder location.
- Centralized Management — Configured, routed, and monitored through the MXNet Evolution II controller alongside all other EV2 endpoints.
- EDID Management — Handles EDID negotiation and scaling through the MXNet controller to ensure compatibility with connected displays.
- 1G Network Interface — Connects to standard managed 1G Ethernet switches; no specialized network hardware required beyond a managed switch.
- Scalable Architecture — Suited for deployments ranging from small multi-room systems to large enterprise or campus-wide EV2 installations.
- Base Model — No Dante — Standard decoder without integrated Dante audio output; choose the AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W if Dante audio is required.
Typical Applications
- Standard display endpoints in corporate AV-over-IP systems where HDMI output to a display is all that is required at each location
- Education campuses distributing video to classroom displays from a central MXNet EV2 encoder system
- Digital signage endpoints receiving content streams from EV2 encoders across a building or campus
- Healthcare facilities distributing video to patient room and waiting area displays via MXNet EV2
- Hospitality and hotel installations routing in-room entertainment and informational content over the EV2 network

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between this decoder and the AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W?
- The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2-W adds integrated Dante audio encoding to the decoder, allowing audio to be output as a Dante network stream in addition to HDMI. The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2 outputs audio only via HDMI and does not include Dante functionality.
- Is this decoder compatible with V1 MXNet systems?
- No. The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2 is designed exclusively for MXNet Evolution II (EV2) systems and cannot receive streams from V1 MXNet encoders.
- Does this decoder require a specialized managed switch?
- The MXNet EV2 system requires a compatible managed 1G Ethernet switch with multicast and IGMP snooping support. Standard commodity managed switches meeting these requirements are typically compatible; consult AVPro Edge's switch compatibility list for specifics.
- Can this decoder be used for digital signage applications?
- Yes. The AC-MXNET-1G-DV2 is commonly used for digital signage display endpoints, receiving content streams distributed from EV2 encoders connected to media players or content servers.
- Is a TAA-compliant version available?
- If TAA or domestic USA sourcing compliance is required for government or federal procurement, a separate TAA-designated model in the EV2 lineup should be specified. Contact AVPro Edge or your distributor for TAA variant availability.
