Product Overview
The AVPro Edge HDBaseT Slim Extender Kit delivers 18Gbps ICT-class signal extension over Cat6 cabling, supporting 4K60 4:4:4 with full HDR to 70 meters and HD to 100 meters. The kit includes both a transmitter and receiver in a slim form factor, with I-Pass HDBaseT signal pass-through, bi-directional power over the Cat6 run, RS232, IR, and Ethernet pass-through — all in a single cable between the two units. ICT (Inverse Channel Technology) preserves the full HDMI 2.0 signal including HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision, and lossless audio formats without compression. This extender is suited to high-performance residential and commercial AV installations where signal fidelity and installation flexibility are both priorities.
Product Description
This extender kit uses AVPro Edge's ICT technology to tunnel the full 18Gbps HDMI 2.0 signal through an HDBaseT link, removing the bandwidth ceiling that limits conventional HDBaseT extenders to 10.2Gbps. At 70 meters the kit delivers 4K60 4:4:4 with HDR and Dolby Vision; at 100 meters it supports full HD. The I-Pass feature brings an additional HDBaseT output on the transmitter side, allowing the signal to loop to a second extender or an AXION-X chassis port without a separate splitter. Bi-directional power means the installer can supply power at either the transmitter or receiver end of the run, reducing the need for local power outlets at both termination points. RS232 and IR signals ride the same Cat6 cable as the video, giving control systems full reach to the display without additional wiring. Ethernet pass-through extends LAN connectivity to the display or room endpoint over the same infrastructure.
Key Features
- ICT 18Gbps Bandwidth — Transmits the full HDMI 2.0 18Gbps signal over HDBaseT, supporting 4K60 4:4:4 with no compression.
- 70m 4K / 100m HD Range — Extends 4K with HDR to 70 meters and full-HD signals to 100 meters over Cat6.
- I-Pass HDBaseT Output — Loop the HDBaseT signal to a second extender or matrix input without an additional splitter.
- Bi-Directional Power — Power the system from either the transmitter or receiver end, reducing wiring complexity on long runs.
- RS232 Pass-Through — Carries RS232 control data alongside the video signal for display or device control at the far end.
- IR Pass-Through — Extends infrared remote control signals bidirectionally across the Cat6 run.
- Ethernet Pass-Through — Provides LAN connectivity at the display location over the existing HDBaseT infrastructure.
- Full HDR Support — Passes HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision metadata intact, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio.
- Slim Form Factor — Low-profile transmitter and receiver designed for clean installations in tight spaces or behind displays.
Typical Applications
- Luxury residential AV systems where 4K60 4:4:4 and Dolby Vision must be maintained across long structured-wiring runs
- Corporate boardrooms requiring a single Cat6 run to carry 4K video, control, and LAN to a remote display
- Broadcast and production environments needing lossless 18Gbps HDMI extension without re-encoding
- Education and government installations benefiting from bi-directional power and centralized power management
- Any installation using an AXION-X chassis where an HDBaseT source or display needs extending with I-Pass looping

Frequently Asked Questions
What does ICT mean and why does it matter?
ICT stands for Inverse Channel Technology, AVPro Edge's method of transmitting the full 18Gbps HDMI 2.0 signal over an HDBaseT link. Standard HDBaseT is limited to 10.2Gbps, which cannot carry 4K60 4:4:4 or Dolby Vision. ICT removes that limitation, making it the only HDBaseT-based technology that can pass the complete HDMI 2.0 signal without compression.
What is I-Pass and how is it used?
I-Pass is an HDBaseT loop output on the transmitter unit. It allows the incoming HDMI source signal to be simultaneously sent down the Cat6 run to the receiver and also looped to another HDBaseT input — such as a matrix chassis port or a second extender — without requiring a standalone splitter.
Can I power both units from one end?
Yes. Bi-directional power means a single power adapter at either the transmitter or receiver end can power both units over the Cat6 cable. This is particularly useful when one end of the run lacks a nearby power outlet.
Does this extender work with any HDBaseT receiver?
ICT requires both endpoints to support the ICT standard. The AC-EX70-444-KIT includes both a matched transmitter and receiver. ICT units are not interchangeable with standard HDBaseT extenders for 4K60 4:4:4 performance.
