Product Overview

The AVPro Edge AC-MXNET-SW24XF is a 24-port 10G fiber AVoIP network switch built for MXnet 10G and SDVoE deployments that need enterprise-grade bandwidth without the port density of a full 48-port core. With 24 x SFP+ ports and 6 x QSFP28 stacking ports, it gives integrators a mid-size entry point into the MXnet 10G ecosystem, scaling from a single standalone switch to a multi-switch, uplinked topology without a network redesign. The switch ships preconfigured for SDVoE traffic, so VLAN, QoS, IGMP, and LAG settings are already set correctly before it leaves the box.

Product Description

The AC-MXNET-SW24XF delivers 1.68 Tbps of total switching capacity and a 600 Mpps forwarding rate, giving it the headroom to carry full multicast load from an SDVoE or MXnet 10G video distribution system without dropped frames. Its 24 SFP+ ports run at 10 GbE by default with 1 GbE fallback, while the 6 QSFP28 ports default to 100 GbE and support breakout to 4 x 25 Gbps or 4 x 10 Gbps for flexible stacking and backbone uplinks. Dual-switch stacking is fully non-blocking using just 3 of the 6 QSFP28 ports for the inter-switch link, leaving the remaining 3 ports per switch free for additional endpoint expansion or a second uplink. A full Layer 3 switching architecture adds OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and VRF support, which matters on projects where the AV-over-IP fabric has to converge with the facility's broader IT network rather than running as an isolated island. AVPro Edge's Intelligent A/V Processing re-engineers multicast handling specifically for AV traffic, keeping processor load predictable even when the switch is fully populated. Hot-swappable 1+1 redundant power supplies and 3+1 redundant hot-swappable fans with front-to-back airflow give it the serviceability profile expected on a mission-critical AV-over-IP core, and the 1RU chassis fits standard AV and IT equipment racks.

Key Features

  • 24 x SFP+ and 6 x QSFP28 Ports — Provides 24 10 GbE/1 GbE SFP+ ports plus 6 QSFP28 ports for 100 GbE uplinks or 25/10 Gbps breakout.
  • 1.68 Tbps Switching Capacity — Delivers a 600 Mpps forwarding rate with full multicast load handling for dense SDVoE and MXnet 10G deployments.
  • Non-Blocking Dual-Switch Stacking — A 3 x 100G inter-switch link keeps dual-switch stacking fully non-blocking while leaving 3 QSFP28 ports per switch free for expansion.
  • Preconfigured for MXnet — VLAN, QoS, IGMP, and LAG settings are optimized out of the box for SDVoE deployments, cutting commissioning time on site.
  • Full Layer 3 Switching — OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and VRF support allow the AV-over-IP fabric to converge with the facility's broader IT network.
  • Redundant Power and Cooling — Hot-swappable 1+1 redundant power supplies and 3+1 redundant hot-swappable fans support continuous operation through a single-component failure.
  • 1RU Rack-Mount Design — Low-profile front-to-back airflow chassis fits standard AV and IT equipment racks.
  • Edge-to-Core Flexibility — Deploys as a standalone core, a distribution switch, or an edge switch beneath a larger MXnet 10G core switch, with no network redesign required.

Typical Applications

  • Corporate campus AV-over-IP backbone
  • Higher education classroom and lecture hall distribution
  • Broadcast and production facilities
  • Government and public-sector command centers
  • Mid-size multi-room commercial deployments

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the AC-MXNET-SW24XF compatible with existing MXnet 10G encoders and decoders? Yes, it is preconfigured for MXnet 10G (SDVoE) traffic out of the box.
  • Does the switch require manual VLAN or QoS configuration for AV traffic? No, VLAN, QoS, IGMP, and LAG settings are optimized out of the box for SDVoE deployments.
  • How many switches can be stacked together? The switch supports a maximum of 3 switch hops, with non-blocking dual-switch stacking using 3 of the 6 QSFP28 ports.
  • What happens if a power supply or fan fails? The switch has 1+1 redundant hot-swappable power supplies and 3+1 redundant hot-swappable fans, allowing continued operation during a single-component failure.
  • Can the QSFP28 ports be used for lower-speed connections? Yes, each QSFP28 port supports breakout to 4x25 Gbps or 4x10 Gbps for flexible expansion.
  • How does this compare to the 48-port SW48XF? The SW24XF covers the same MXnet 10G ecosystem at half the port density, for projects that don't need a full 48-port core.
  • What is the warranty on this product? AVPro Edge covers the AC-MXNET-SW24XF with a 10-year manufacturer warranty.
