Product Overview
The RF Venue CP-ARC is a circularly polarized UHF antenna engineered for permanent installed in-ear monitor (IEM) systems in commercial AV environments. Its slim 11" x 11" x 2" enclosure mounts on any wall or ceiling surface, can be painted to match any interior finish, and delivers consistent RF coverage in a single fixture where traditional paddle antennas require precise orientation. With a 120° conical pattern and a typical working range of 200 feet, it is a practical choice for houses of worship, conference centers, and performing arts venues where aesthetics matter as much as performance.
Product Description
The CP-ARC uses right-hand circular polarization (RHCP) to maintain a consistent signal level to IEM body packs regardless of performer orientation or movement across the stage. Unlike linearly polarized LPDA or paddle antennas, which require careful alignment and can fade as a performer rotates, the CP-ARC delivers predictable coverage across its full 120° hypercardioid beam pattern. The antenna covers the full 470–928 MHz UHF band with a 3 dBi gain at 500 MHz and a 10 dB average return loss, making it compatible with virtually every professional wireless IEM system on the market — including those from Shure, Sennheiser, Lectrosonics, and Audio-Technica.
Installation is straightforward: the CP-ARC ships with both ceiling and wall hardware mounting kits, and its matte white enclosure accepts standard interior paint without affecting RF performance. A single BNC-F connector on the rear of the enclosure connects directly to your IEM transmitter or antenna distribution system. For large venues or multi-zone IEM deployments, multiple CP-ARC units can be distributed throughout the space using an RF Venue antenna distribution system for extended coverage. The CP-ARCB version of this product is available in black for darker interiors.
Key Features
- Right-Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP) — Maintains consistent signal to IEM body packs regardless of performer orientation, eliminating the polarization fading common with paddle antennas.
- Wide Frequency Coverage — Operates across 470–928 MHz (458 MHz bandwidth), compatible with virtually all professional UHF IEM systems.
- Architectural Form Factor — Slim 11" x 11" x 2" enclosure installs flush to any wall or ceiling surface and accepts paint to blend into any interior finish.
- 120° Conical Beam Pattern — Hypercardioid coverage with a typical working range of approximately 200 feet from the antenna to the performer.
- Orientation-Independent Installation — Mounts in any orientation on wall or ceiling without affecting RF performance.
- Complete Mounting Hardware Included — Ships with both ceiling and wall mounting kits, ready for immediate installation.
- BNC-F Connector — Standard BNC connection for direct interface with IEM transmitters, combiners, or antenna distribution systems.
Typical Applications
Suitable for:
- House of worship — permanent IEM systems for worship teams and clergy
- Auditorium — installed IEM coverage for performers on fixed stages
- Conference room / boardroom — wireless IEM for presenters requiring clean-look installations
- Multi-purpose room — single antenna covers rehearsal and performance spaces
- Broadcast studio — low-profile IEM antenna that keeps the set uncluttered
- Training room — consistent IEM signal for instructors moving throughout the space

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the CP-ARC and a standard paddle antenna for IEM use?
Standard paddle (LPDA) antennas are linearly polarized, which means signal strength varies significantly as a performer moves and their body pack antenna changes angle relative to the receive antenna. The CP-ARC uses right-hand circular polarization, which maintains a more consistent signal level regardless of body pack orientation. For permanent installed IEM applications, this typically results in fewer dropouts and more predictable coverage.
Can the CP-ARC be used for wireless microphone receive as well as IEM transmit?
The CP-ARC is designed primarily for IEM transmit applications. For wireless microphone receive, RF Venue recommends using LPDA or diversity fin antennas. Contact your AV integrator for system design guidance specific to your application.
How many CP-ARC antennas are needed to cover a large venue?
One CP-ARC provides approximately 200 feet of coverage within its 120° conical pattern. For larger venues or multi-zone coverage, multiple units connected to an RF Venue antenna distribution system can extend coverage area. System design will depend on venue layout, number of IEM channels, and RF environment.
Does the CP-ARC work with all IEM brands and frequencies?
Yes. The CP-ARC covers 470–928 MHz, which encompasses the operating ranges of virtually all professional UHF IEM systems from Shure, Sennheiser, Lectrosonics, Audio-Technica, Wisycom, and others. Always verify your specific IEM system's transmit frequency falls within this range before purchasing.
Can the CP-ARC be painted to match a room's interior?
Yes. The matte white enclosure is designed to accept standard interior latex or acrylic paint without affecting RF performance. This is a key design feature for permanent installations in churches, conference centers, and performing arts facilities where visible antenna hardware is undesirable.
What connector does the CP-ARC use, and what cable is recommended?
The CP-ARC uses a BNC-F (female) connector. RF Venue RG8X coaxial cable with BNC connectors is the recommended cable for runs from the antenna to the IEM transmitter or antenna distribution system. For runs over 50 feet, consider using an RF Venue in-line amplifier (ILAMP-ACT) to compensate for cable loss.
