Product Overview
The RF Venue ILAMP-ACT is a passive in-line RF amplifier that adds 10 dB of gain to the antenna feed on a wireless microphone or IEM distribution system to compensate for signal attenuation on long coaxial cable runs. It connects inline on standard BNC coaxial cable and draws power from DC-over-coax supplied by an antenna distribution system or from an external +12V DC adapter — no dedicated power cable is needed at the amplifier location.
Product Description
Long coaxial cable runs are one of the most common causes of degraded wireless microphone performance in installed AV systems. Every meter of coaxial cable introduces RF signal loss; for typical RG-58 cable, signal loss reaches approximately 10 dB after 20 meters. The ILAMP-ACT inserts inline on the antenna coax feed to recover this lost signal, extending the effective reach of the antenna without requiring shorter cable runs or a change in cable type. A single ILAMP-ACT compensates for up to 10 dB of cable attenuation. For longer runs requiring more than 10 dB of compensation, up to two units can be cascaded using a BNC female-to-female adapter or a short coax jumper (not included). The red LED power indicator confirms the unit is receiving DC power, simplifying troubleshooting during installation. For diversity wireless microphone systems with two antenna inputs, two ILAMP-ACT units are required — one per antenna feed path. The included wall mount adapter allows the unit to be secured to a wall or rack panel at the mid-point of a long cable run, keeping cabling organized in permanent installations.
