The Audio-Technica BP899cH-TH omnidirectional lavalier microphone is built for natural, consistent voice capture in theater and live performance.
The theater-beige color is selected to be visually discreet during staged productions, while the microphone is otherwise the same as the black BP899cH. The omnidirectional condenser element captures voice evenly regardless of head movement, supporting hands-free presenting and performance. The diaphragm opening is covered by an acoustically transparent, moisture-repellent protective mesh that supports full frequency response and lasting performance. An included resonance cap can be fitted for greater intelligibility while directing sweat and moisture away from the capsule. Where up-close directional miking is preferred, the cardioid BP898 is the recommended alternative. The 55" (1.4 m) permanently attached cable uses a urethane elastomer jacket that stays flexible and strong while resisting abrasion and moisture, and an included clothing clip provides two strain-relief points that isolate the capsule from cable-borne mechanical noise. Two windscreens each lock to the microphone with a clasp so they stay in place during active use. The cH-style termination connects directly to Audio-Technica cH-style body-pack transmitters with no separate power module required.
