What is the AUDAC BASO12/B 12" bass reflex subwoofer?
The AUDAC BASO12/B is a compact 12" passive bass reflex subwoofer that adds low-frequency extension to commercial sound systems. It handles 500 W continuous (AES) at 8 Ω, with 98 dB sensitivity and 125 dB maximum SPL. The black plywood cabinet is sized to fit bars, restaurants, retail floors, clubs and multi-purpose rooms where a full-size sub would be too large.
How does the AUDAC BASO12/B 12" bass reflex subwoofer work?

The BASO12/B loads a single 12" ferrite woofer with a low-loss suspension into a bass reflex enclosure tuned to 45 Hz. That design gives a response of 40 Hz – 300 Hz (±3 dB), extending to 35 Hz at -10 dB, so it pairs well with compact full-range loudspeakers in background and foreground music systems. The woofer sits in an impact-resistant die-cast frame, and the cabinet is built from 0.71" (18 mm) plywood with a structured coating and an 18-gauge steel grille. Two Speakon-compatible connectors sit in a recessed connector dish, allowing link-through to additional cabinets and letting the sub be placed close to a wall or corner. As a passive cabinet, it needs an external power amplifier and a crossover or DSP to set the low-pass filter, such as an AUDAC SMQ500 or SMA500 power amplifier. Three M6 mounting holes on each side accept the MBK102 bass cabinet mounting set. The cabinet weighs 48.5 lb, so plan mounting points accordingly. A white version (BASO12/W) is also available to match the room finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the BASO12/B powered?
No. It is a passive 8 Ω cabinet. Drive it from a power amplifier rated around its 500 W AES continuous power, such as an AUDAC SMQ or SMA series amplifier.
Does it need a crossover or processor?
Yes. Use the low-pass filter in a DSP amplifier or an external processor to set the crossover point between the subwoofer and the full-range loudspeakers.
Can several subwoofers share one amplifier channel?
The two Speakon-compatible connectors allow link-through. Check the combined impedance against the amplifier minimum load before linking cabinets.
How is it mounted?
The cabinet has three M6 bracket holes on each side for the MBK102 bass cabinet mounting set. Have any wall or ceiling mounting points reviewed by a qualified installer.
Is it rated for outdoor use?
AUDAC does not list an IP rating for the BASO12. Confirm the installation environment with us before any exposed or outdoor location.
What warranty does it carry?
AUDAC lists a 5-year manufacturer warranty for the BASO12.
