What is the AUDAC ARU208 relay unit?
The AUDAC ARU208 is a DIN-rail digital relay unit with 8 double-pole relays, controlled over TCP/IP, RS-485, AUDAC Touch or dry-contact inputs. It switches audio sources, speaker lines and other circuits as part of an AUDAC or third-party control system. Typical uses are zone muting, source switching, paging overrides and simple building automation.
How does the AUDAC ARU208 relay unit work?
Each of the ARU208's 8 relays is double-pole with normally open and normally closed contacts, so one relay switches a balanced mono or unbalanced stereo signal. AUDAC rates the relays for signals from line-level audio and amplified speaker lines (low impedance or 100V) up to low-voltage and 240 V AC mains distribution. Relays can be triggered from the built-in HTML5 web interface, AUDAC Touch, TCP/IP commands from any control system, AUDAC paging consoles, or dry-contact inputs from buttons, switches and alarm contacts. Dry contacts take priority over digital triggers, and pre-programmed timers can fire relays on a schedule. Several units daisy-chain over RS-485, and the ARU208 has separate RS-485 in and out ports for easier wiring. The black ABS housing snaps onto a standard DIN rail and runs on 24 V DC from the optional PSD24x supply. It pairs with the AUDAC MTX88 matrix and NCP105 wall controller.
