Atomos Ninja TX 5-inch 8K ProRes RAW Monitor Recorder

Product Overview

The Atomos Ninja TX is a 5-inch on-camera HDR monitor-recorder that captures Apple ProRes RAW HQ at 8Kp30 and 4Kp120 from HDMI 2.1 sources directly to CFexpress Type B media, while simultaneously streaming finished content to the cloud via Wi-Fi 6E and ATOMOSphere. Designed for solo camera operators, DPs, and journalists who require a compact, high-resolution external recording solution, the Ninja TX delivers 1000-nit HDR monitoring and camera-to-cloud connectivity in a lightweight form factor that mounts directly to any camera hot shoe or cage.

Product Description

The Atomos Ninja TX advances the Ninja line by supporting 8K resolution recording and wireless cloud delivery from a 5-inch touchscreen unit. Built around a 1000-nit HDR panel with full-array local dimming and HDR10/HLG monitoring support, the Ninja TX provides reference-quality on-camera monitoring for the entire dynamic range of modern mirrorless and cinema cameras that output RAW over HDMI 2.1. Apple ProRes RAW HQ at 8Kp30 and 4Kp120 is recorded directly to CFexpress Type B, enabling high-quality acquisition with the flexibility that RAW workflows demand in post-production.

Wi-Fi 6E connectivity with ATOMOSphere integration enables simultaneous record-and-upload workflows, sending content to cloud platforms including Frame.io and Dropbox while the camera is still rolling. For broadcast and live event work, the Ninja TX encodes a simultaneous live stream alongside local recording, removing the need for a separate streaming device. NDI HX3 support distributes the monitor output over a local IP network for remote viewing or integration with NDI-compatible production systems without additional hardware.

AirGlu wireless timecode via RF and Bluetooth synchronizes the Ninja TX with other cameras and recorders on set without BNC timecode cables. The touchscreen monitoring toolset includes custom 3D LUT support, ARRI and Atomos false color, focus peaking, waveform, vectorscope, RGB parade, zebra, frame guides, pixel magnification, and anamorphic de-squeeze. Audio is handled via HDMI-embedded audio channels with a 3.5mm headphone output. Power draws from an NP-F/L-series battery via a single battery plate, with a DC input for tethered AC operation. The Ninja TX pairs with the Atomos CONNECT for Ninja V/V+ at Creation Networks for SDI input and expanded connectivity.
