Product Overview

The Atlona AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK is a 3x1 HDBaseT transmitter and switcher with two HDMI inputs and one VGA input, designed for classrooms, huddle rooms, and meeting spaces requiring a compact, locally powered AV switching and extension solution. This HDMI VGA HDBaseT switcher transmitter extends video, audio, RS-232, and Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 meters) over category cable to HDBaseT-equipped projectors and displays. The AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK features automatic input selection and built-in display control, making it a self-contained HDBaseT AV switcher for conference rooms and training environments that need to support both legacy VGA sources and modern HDMI devices without a separate control system.

Product Description

Atlona AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK Two-Input Wall Plate Switcher for HDMI and VGA with Keystone Plate

The Atlona AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK is a 3x1 HDBaseT switcher and transmitter that accepts two HDMI inputs and one VGA input with audio, transmitting the selected signal up to 330 feet (100 meters) over CAT6a/7 cable at 4K/UHD @ 60 Hz with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, or up to 230 feet (70 meters) over CAT5e/6 at 4K. Embedded audio, RS-232 control, and Ethernet are extended alongside the video signal over the same category cable. The unit is locally powered via an included external power supply, making it suitable for point-to-point AV installations directly to HDBaseT-equipped projectors and displays where receiver-supplied power is not available. It can also be powered via PoE (IEEE 802.3af) from a compatible Atlona HDBaseT receiver or power injector. The AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK includes automatic input selection that detects the 5-volt hot plug detect (HPD) signal and active video, ensuring reliable switching even with DVRs, DisplayPort adapters, and other devices that hold HPD high without active video. Automatic display control allows the unit to power a projector or display on and off via TCP/IP, RS-232, or CEC whenever a source is connected or disconnected, eliminating the need for a separate control system. Front panel buttons provide manual input selection, display on/off control, and volume adjustment. A two-channel audio input can be assigned to any of the three video inputs and embedded into the HDBaseT output for flexible audio routing. The AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK is compatible with the Atlona Velocity Device Manager platform for network-based configuration and management. Surface mounting brackets are included for under-table, furniture, or on-wall installation. Note: The AT-HDVS-200 Series has been discontinued by Atlona; the AT-OME-SW21-TX-WPC is the recommended replacement for wall plate installations.

  • Front Panel Controls — Input select, display on/off, and volume buttons allow direct manual operation without requiring a control system or remote access.
  • TCP/IP and RS-232 Control — Supports external control from Atlona Velocity, Crestron, AMX, and other third-party control systems over IP or RS-232.
  • EDID Management — Manages EDID communications between sources and the switcher to ensure sources transmit the preferred video resolution and audio format.
  • Surface Mounting Included — Ships with mounting brackets for under-table, furniture, or on-wall installation without a rack enclosure.

Typical Applications

  • Classrooms and training rooms requiring HDMI and VGA source switching with HDBaseT extension to a projector
  • Huddle rooms and small conference rooms with a mix of legacy and modern presentation sources
  • Meeting spaces with HDBaseT-equipped projectors requiring a locally powered transmitter solution
  • Corporate AV systems using automatic display control to reduce energy consumption and user error
  • Installations replacing older VGA-only systems while maintaining compatibility with HDMI sources
  • Education technology rooms needing auto-switching between instructor laptop and document camera inputs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does the AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK support 4K at 60 Hz?
Yes, with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling when paired with a compatible HDBaseT receiver such as the AT-OME-RX11, or a compatible Atlona switcher. Full 4K/30 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma is also supported over HDBaseT.
Q: What is the difference between the AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK and the AT-HDVS-200-TX?
The AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK includes a local external power supply ("PSK" denotes the power supply kit), making it suitable for point-to-point installations directly to HDBaseT-equipped projectors. The AT-HDVS-200-TX relies on remote PoE power from a compatible receiver or switcher.
Q: Can the AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK control a projector automatically?
Yes. The automatic display control feature powers a projector or display on when a source is detected and powers it off when the source is disconnected. Control signals are sent via TCP/IP, RS-232, or CEC, eliminating the need for a separate control system for basic display management.
Q: What category cable provides the best HDBaseT performance with this unit?
Atlona recommends CAT6a or CAT7 shielded twisted pair cable for optimal HDBaseT performance and maximum 4K transmission distances of 330 feet (100 meters). CAT5e and CAT6 support 4K at up to 230 feet (70 meters) and 1080p at up to 330 feet.
Q: Is the AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK still being manufactured?
The AT-HDVS-200 Series has been discontinued by Atlona. The AT-OME-SW21-TX-WPC is Atlona's recommended replacement for wall plate transmitter installations. Creation Networks can assist with sourcing available stock or transitioning to a replacement solution.
Q: Can the VGA and HDMI inputs be used simultaneously?
No — the AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK is a 3-input, single-output switcher. Only one input is transmitted at a time. Automatic or manual input selection determines which active source is sent to the HDBaseT output.
Q: Does the analog audio input work without a video signal?
Yes. The AT-HDVS-200-TX-PSK supports audio-only playback, meaning the analog stereo audio input can be assigned to a video input and transmitted over HDBaseT even when no video signal is present on that input.
