Product Overview
The Atlona AT-OME-MH21-CP is a compact 2x1 AV switcher designed for huddle rooms, small meeting spaces, and BYOD collaboration environments. Featuring USB-C and HDMI inputs with an integrated USB 3.0 hub, this Omega Series switcher delivers 4K/UHD video at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling alongside automatic display control — making it an ideal USB-C switcher for conference rooms and video conferencing setups. Long-tail search terms that apply include compact USB-C HDMI switcher for meeting rooms, 4K auto-switching presentation switcher with USB hub, and Atlona Omega huddle room AV solution with device charging.
Product Description
The Atlona AT-OME-MH21-CP is part of the Omega Series of integration products engineered for modern AV communications and collaboration. This 2x1 switcher accepts one USB-C input and one HDMI input, delivering output to a single HDMI display at resolutions up to 4K/UHD @ 60 Hz with full 4:4:4 chroma sampling and HDR support including HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision at 60 Hz. HDCP 2.2 compliance ensures compatibility with the latest protected content sources and displays. The USB-C input supports Alternate Mode video, USB 3.0 data, and up to 60 watts of device charging — allowing a single cable connection from a laptop for complete AV and power delivery. For installations with 1080p displays, selectable 4K to 1080p downscaling is available at 60, 30, or 24 Hz without requiring an external scaler. The integrated USB 3.0 hub provides two USB Type-A ports for peripheral devices such as a webcam, speakerphone, soundbar, or touch display, plus the USB-C and USB Type-B host ports for switching between two PCs. Auto-switching detects input connections using hot plug detect (HPD) and active video signals, enabling completely hands-free operation: connect a laptop and the display powers on automatically; disconnect it and the display powers off. Display control is available via CEC, RS-232, IR, or TCP/IP without requiring a separate control system. Audio de-embedding provides a balanced analog output for feeding an external amplifier or DSP. Remote management is available through the built-in web server and Atlona Velocity Device Manager for multi-device deployments.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What is the difference between the AT-OME-MH21-CP and the AT-OME-MH21?
- The AT-OME-MH21-CP includes USB-C device charging capability (up to 60 W), while the AT-OME-MH21 does not. Both units share the same video inputs, USB hub, and auto-switching features.
- Q: Can the AT-OME-MH21-CP work without a control system?
- Yes. The unit includes automatic input switching and automatic display control via CEC, RS-232, IR, or TCP/IP. No external control system is required for standard operation.
- Q: Does the USB-C input support video from all USB-C laptops?
- The USB-C input requires the source device to support USB-C Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode) for video output. Not all USB-C ports on laptops support video output — check your laptop's specifications to confirm compatibility.
- Q: What video conferencing platforms are compatible with the USB hub?
- The integrated USB hub is platform-agnostic and works with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, GoToMeeting, and any other software-based video conferencing application that uses USB peripherals.
- Q: Can the unit downscale 4K sources for use with a 1080p display?
- Yes. The AT-OME-MH21-CP includes a built-in scaler that can downconvert 4K/24, 4K/30, and 4K/60 Hz sources to 1080p/24, 1080p/30, and 1080p/60 Hz respectively. Note that the scaler does not support frame rate conversion.
- Q: How is the AT-OME-MH21-CP typically installed in a huddle room?
- The unit's 1.02-inch low-profile enclosure is designed for installation under a meeting table or inside furniture. Atlona's Pocket 3H (AT-PKT-3H) cable access enclosure provides a tidy tabletop connection point for the HDMI and USB-C cables.
- Q: Is the firmware field-updatable?
- Yes. Firmware can be updated via the built-in web GUI or through Atlona Velocity Device Manager for centralized multi-device management.
