Product Description
The Atlona AT-USB-EX350-KIT is a point-to-point USB extender kit that supports transmission of 5 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 data up to 330 feet (100 meters) using a single Category 6A U/FTP cable. The kit extends connections for devices such as 4K cameras, conferencing bars, microphones, and speakers to locations that exceed the maximum cable length of standard USB cabling. The host endpoint provides a USB-C locking port for connection to laptops, computers, and compatible AV equipment including many Atlona Omega Series products, while the device endpoint provides three USB Type-A ports and one USB-C locking port for peripheral connections. Each peripheral port on the device endpoint delivers up to 1.5 amps, with a total of 3.2 amps across all device ports, supporting power-hungry peripherals without an additional power supply. A LAN port on the host endpoint provides network-based access to advanced integration features including VBUS configuration per port, power consumption and connection monitoring, firmware updates, and IP-to-RS-232 translation for bi-directional serial control through the device endpoint. Bidirectional remote power allows the kit to be powered from either the host or device endpoint using the included 48V power supply. Compact enclosures with surface mounting hardware allow installation in furniture, behind a display, or above a projector. The kit is NDAA Section 889 compliant and certified CE, FCC, UKCA, and RCM.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What cable type is required for the full 330-foot (100 meter) extension distance?
- A Category 6A U/FTP cable run directly from transmitter to receiver (no patch panel) achieves the maximum 330 ft (100 m) distance. Using a patch panel or coupler reduces the maximum to 295 ft (90 m) with CAT 6A U/FTP. CAT 6A UTP supports up to 230 ft (70 m) and CAT 5e UTP up to 164 ft (50 m).
- Q: Does the AT-USB-EX350-KIT require a separate power supply at both ends?
- No. The kit supports bidirectional remote power, meaning the included 48V power supply can be connected to either the host or the device endpoint. Only one power supply connection is required to power the entire system.
- Q: What USB device types are supported at the device endpoint?
- The device endpoint supports 4K cameras, conferencing bars, microphones, speakers, and other USB peripherals that use Control, Bulk, Interrupt, or Isochronous transfer types. Note that the AT-CAP-SP100 speakerphone is not compatible with the device endpoint USB ports.
- Q: Can the AT-USB-EX350-KIT be managed remotely over a network?
- Yes. The LAN port on the host endpoint provides access to a built-in web server for monitoring connection and power status, configuring per-port VBUS modes, updating firmware, and managing IP-to-RS-232 translation. The device supports HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, SSH, and JSON over WebSockets.
- Q: Is the AT-USB-EX350-KIT compliant with NDAA Section 889?
- Yes. The AT-USB-EX350-KIT is NDAA Section 889 compliant, making it suitable for government, military, and federally funded education installations with procurement restrictions on certain technology.
- Q: How much current can the device endpoint ports supply to connected peripherals?
- Each peripheral port on the device endpoint supplies up to 1.5 amps, with a combined maximum of 3.2 amps across all device ports simultaneously. This is sufficient to power most USB-connected cameras, microphones, and speakerphones.
- Q: What is the difference between the AT-USB-EX350-KIT and the AT-USB-EX350-WPD-KIT or AT-USB-EX350-WPH-KIT?
- The AT-USB-EX350-KIT uses standalone box-style endpoints for tabletop or concealed installation. The WPD and WPH variants are wallplate form-factor versions designed for in-wall installation with different connector configurations suited to specific room types.
- Q: Can the RS-232 port on the device endpoint be used to control a display or peripheral device?
- Yes. The device endpoint includes a 3-pin captive screw RS-232 port that supports bi-directional serial control via the host endpoint's IP-to-RS-232 TCP proxy function. Supported baud rates are 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, and 115200.
