Product Description

Atlona 4K HDR 4x4 HDMI Matrix Switcher - AT-HDR-H2H-44MA

The Atlona AT-HDR-H2H-44MA is a 4-input, 4-output matrix switcher designed exclusively for HDMI signals and built to handle the demands of 4K/UHD and HDR content distribution. It is part of Atlona's 4K HDR product family and supports video resolutions from standard definition through 4K/UHD at 60 Hz, with chroma sampling up to 4:4:4, color depth up to 12-bit, and HDMI data rates up to 18 Gbps. HDR format support includes HDR10 and Dolby Vision at 60 Hz as well as HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) for 60p HDR broadcast services. HDCP 2.2 compliance ensures protected content passes correctly between sources and displays. EDID management allows the matrix to present the correct EDID to each source, ensuring audio formats and video resolutions are negotiated properly across the system. HDCP management can be selectively disengaged to allow non-protected PC output to reach non-HDCP displays, streaming devices, or teleconference systems without blocking the signal. Each of the four HDMI inputs has a paired unbalanced analog audio output for de-embedding two-channel PCM audio and routing it to a whole-house or commercial audio distribution system. CEC display control can be sent independently to each of the four outputs, enabling individual power on/off of connected displays via IP or RS-232 commands. The front panel includes physical buttons and an LCD menu display for direct matrix routing, configuration, and troubleshooting without requiring a connected control system. Control interfaces include TCP/IP Ethernet, RS-232, and IR, with compatibility for Atlona Velocity and third-party control systems including AMX, Crestron, Control4, and Savant. Firmware can be updated in the field via the built-in web GUI, Velocity Device Manager, or the front USB port. The 1U, full-rack-width enclosure ships with rack mounting brackets and an external universal power supply. The AT-HDR-H2H-44MA is available at creationnetworks.net.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What HDR formats does the AT-HDR-H2H-44MA support?
The AT-HDR-H2H-44MA supports HDR10 at 60 Hz, Dolby Vision at 60 Hz, and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), which is used for 60p HDR broadcast services. This makes it compatible with current Ultra HD Blu-ray players, HDR streaming sources, and broadcast equipment.
Q: Can the AT-HDR-H2H-44MA de-embed multi-channel Dolby or DTS audio?
The unit de-embeds two-channel PCM audio only. For applications requiring extraction and downmixing of Dolby or DTS multi-channel audio formats, Atlona recommends pairing the AT-HDR-H2H-44MA with the AT-HDR-M2C 4K HDR Multi-Channel Digital to Two-Channel Audio Converter.
Q: Does CEC control work with all connected displays?
CEC functionality depends on the display manufacturer's implementation. Atlona has confirmed proper operation with many current Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, and LG televisions that follow the CEC command structure from HDMI 1.2a and support the power-off command from a source device. Older televisions and models using proprietary CEC implementations may not respond correctly.
Q: What control systems are compatible with the AT-HDR-H2H-44MA?
The AT-HDR-H2H-44MA includes driver support for AMX, Crestron, Control4, Savant, Clare Controls, Elan, Neets, RTI, Universal Remote Control, and Vantage. It is also compatible with Atlona Velocity and Velocity Device Manager for network-based configuration and management.
Q: Can HDCP be disabled on specific outputs?
Yes. HDCP compliance can be selectively disengaged through Velocity or another control system for outputs connected to non-HDCP endpoints such as teleconference codecs, streaming encoders, or older displays. Note that disabling HDCP only allows non-protected content to pass; HDCP-protected content will not transmit to non-compliant endpoints.
Q: What is the maximum HDMI cable length supported at 4K?
The AT-HDR-H2H-44MA supports passive HDMI cables up to 15 feet (5 meters) at 4K/UHD resolutions and up to 30 feet (10 meters) at 1080p. For longer runs, Atlona HDBaseT extenders such as the AT-HDR-EX-70-2PS or AT-HDR-EX-100CEA-KIT can be used in conjunction with this matrix switcher.
Q: Is the AT-HDR-H2H-44MA compatible with Velocity Device Manager?
Yes. The AT-HDR-H2H-44MA is an IP-controllable device that integrates with Atlona Velocity Device Manager, the free network software platform for configuring, managing, updating firmware, and monitoring Atlona devices across a LAN, WAN, or VPN from a web browser.
