Product Overview
The AtlasIED Atmosphere AZM4-D is a 6-input, 4-zone commercial audio processor with an integrated Dante interface, serving as the central DSP of an Atmosphere audio control system. It routes, processes, and distributes audio across four zones while on-ramping signals onto a Dante network for distribution to other Dante-enabled devices. For commercial AV integrators and system designers, the AZM4-D consolidates zone control, message playback, scheduling, and ambient noise compensation into a single networked audio processor. It is well suited to restaurants, offices, retail, education, and multi-room commercial audio installations.
Product Description

The AZM4-D pairs the Atmosphere platform's DSP engine with Dante networked audio. While the onboard Brooklyn 3 card supports up to 16x16 audio channels, the AZM4-D is configured for 8x4 channels of sources and zones with built-in signal processing, and additional Dante outputs let integrators feed audio onto the Dante network for use by other Dante-capable hardware. The processor includes an integrated message player, bell scheduler, room combine and grouping, learning ambient noise sensing with auto noise compensation, Loud Noise Detection, Tilter Filter, auto-gain, GPIO with a high-priority GPI input for alarm system integration, and a full sound masking suite of configuration tools.

Deployment and programming are handled through a modern onboard web interface built on Progressive Web App technology, so any browser-equipped device can configure and control the system without dedicated software. Built-in Wi-Fi lets the unit act as an access point or join an existing network, and app-less virtual wall controllers can be distributed to end users via QR code or URL. The AZM4-D is compatible with all seven Atmosphere wall plate accessories for control, remote audio input, and ambient noise sensing; up to 16 plug-and-play accessories connect across two accessory ports, each reliable up to 1,000 feet, and a zone paging station can be added. Control modules are available for Crestron, Extron, AMX, and RTI, simplifying AV control system integration. Pair it with 70V amplifiers and loudspeakers from our AtlasIED collection for a complete commercial audio deployment.
Key Features
- Dante Networked Audio — Integrated Dante interface distributes audio to other Dante-enabled devices and on-ramps sources onto the network.
- 8x4 Processed Channels — Eight source channels and four zone outputs with built-in signal processing cover multi-zone commercial spaces from one chassis.
- Onboard Web Interface — Progressive Web App control works from any device over Ethernet or built-in Wi-Fi, with no software installation required.
- App-less Virtual Wall Controllers — End users access zone control via QR code or distributed URL, reducing hardware cost and training time.
- Two Accessory Ports — Support up to 16 plug-and-play wall controllers and sensors plus audio accessories, with reliable runs up to 1,000 feet per port.
- Message Player and Bell Scheduler — Built-in scheduled announcements and tones serve education, retail, and corporate facilities without external players.
- Room Combine and Groups — Combine or split zones for multi-purpose rooms and divisible meeting spaces directly from the interface.
- Auto Noise Compensation — Learning ambient noise sensing keeps program audio and paging intelligible as occupancy changes.
- High-Priority GPI Input — Integrates with fire alarm and life-safety systems to mute or override audio when required.
- Third-Party Control — Control modules for Crestron, Extron, AMX, and RTI support enterprise AV control integration.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the AZM4-D and the standard AZM4?
The AZM4-D adds an integrated Dante interface, allowing networked audio distribution to and from other Dante-enabled devices in addition to the standard Atmosphere feature set.
How many wall controllers can connect to the AZM4-D?
Up to 16 plug-and-play Atmosphere accessories connect across two accessory ports, with up to two audio accessories (one per port) such as a wall plate input or zone paging station.
Does the AZM4-D require special software for programming?
No. Configuration is done through the onboard web interface, which runs as a Progressive Web App in any browser over Ethernet or the built-in Wi-Fi.
Can the AZM4-D integrate with Crestron or Extron control systems?
Yes. AtlasIED provides control modules for Crestron, Extron, AMX, and RTI for third-party AV control system integration.
Does it support life-safety system integration?
Yes. A high-priority GPI input allows the processor to respond to fire alarm or other alarm system triggers.
