The Atlas Sound X-ANS-US-B is an ambient noise sensor designed for use with the AtlasIED Atmosphere Zone Master (AZM) signal processor, enabling Ambient Noise Compensation (ANC) and Loud Noise Detection (LND) in commercial audio zones. The X-ANS-US-B installs discreetly in black to blend with dark ceiling or wall surfaces in restaurants, retail stores, conference rooms, and other commercial spaces where automatic volume adjustment is required. This Atmosphere ambient noise sensor monitors environmental sound levels and sends data to the AZM without transmitting audio content, protecting speech privacy in sensitive installations. Up to four sensors can be assigned per zone with up to eight sensors per AZM, providing comprehensive noise monitoring across large or complex spaces.

The X-ANS-US-B operates as part of the AtlasIED Atmosphere ecosystem, connecting to the Atmosphere accessory bus that supports up to 8 devices per port at distances up to 1,000 feet. The ANC function enables the AZM to automatically adjust zone volume in proportion to measured ambient noise levels, ensuring consistent perceived loudness in variable environments such as open-plan offices, food service areas, and retail concourses. The Loud Noise Detection (LND) function monitors noise against configurable thresholds and can trigger programmable actions within the Atmosphere system, such as alerts, zone muting, or system-level responses. AtlasIED’s patented data collection technique and patent-pending automatic ANC algorithm learns from user volume adjustments at specific noise levels, building a unique environmental response curve for each space without ongoing manual intervention. This self-learning capability reduces post-installation tuning time and produces more accurate results than fixed-threshold compensation systems. The X-ANS-US-B uses plug-and-play connectivity designed for fast, tool-free installation on the accessory bus. The black housing (X-ANS-US-B) is compatible with AZM4 and AZM8 Zone Master processors. A white version (X-ANS-US) is also available for light-colored installations.
