The Atlas Sound X-ANS-US is an ambient noise sensor for the AtlasIED Atmosphere Zone Master (AZM) signal processor, enabling Ambient Noise Compensation (ANC) and Loud Noise Detection (LND) across commercial audio zones. The white housing blends with standard ceiling and wall surfaces in offices, retail stores, restaurants, conference rooms, and hospitality environments where automatic volume management is needed. This Atmosphere ambient noise sensor delivers only acoustic data to the AZM processor—no audio content is ever returned—preserving speech privacy in sensitive installations. Up to four sensors can be assigned per zone and up to eight per AZM, enabling accurate noise monitoring in large or multi-zone commercial environments.

Product Description

The X-ANS-US is a plug-and-play accessory that connects to the Atmosphere accessory bus, which supports up to 8 devices per port at wire runs up to 1,000 feet. This range makes it practical for installations across large floor plates where zone controllers are centrally located. The ANC function enables the AZM to automatically scale zone volume in proportion to measured ambient noise, maintaining a consistent perceived loudness level even as the environment changes throughout the day. Loud Noise Detection monitors configurable noise thresholds and triggers programmable actions within the Atmosphere system—such as alerts, zone level adjustments, or system notifications—when noise exceeds set limits. AtlasIED’s patented data collection method and patent-pending ANC learning algorithm adapts to each installation’s unique acoustic environment by observing how users adjust volume at different noise levels. Over time, the system builds a custom response curve for the space, reducing the need for recurring manual fine-tuning. Compatible with AZM4 and AZM8 Zone Master processors. The black version (X-ANS-US-B) is available for installations requiring a dark finish.
