Product Overview
The Atlas Sound WMA16-23 is a 16RU high-strength wall mount rack cabinet built for commercial AV and network equipment installations where floor space is unavailable or impractical. The welded 16-gauge steel enclosure pairs an 18-inch deep center section with adjustable rack rails and a 4-1/2-inch deep rear section, for a 23-1/2-inch total depth that accommodates amplifiers, DSPs, switches, and cable service loops. A swing-out center section, cylinder lock, and extensive conduit knockouts make it a practical wall mount equipment rack for classrooms, IDF closets, and meeting room head ends. The non-sagging alignment frame design supports the loaded center section through its entire travel range, which matters when servicing heavy equipment in place.
Product Description

The WMA Series construction is 16-gauge welded steel, finished in durable black electrostatic powder coat, with provisions for custom cabinet mounting, wire management, equipment mounting, and structural support. Adjustable front rack rails are tapped 10-32 on standard EIA 1/2-inch spacing, and a continuous-slot hat channel design allows full front-to-back rail adjustment with securing holes for fixed positioning — useful when balancing deep amplifiers against shallow control gear in the same AV rack installation. Rails include hash marks indicating rack increments, and the cabinet ships with one set of plated rails plus one hundred 10-32 x 0.75" rack screws with captive washers. The back pan ships boxed separately on the same pallet, so contractors can send the rear section to the job site for installation by other trades before the equipment phase — a workflow advantage on new construction. A 12.5" x 12.5" cut-out on the back pan allows cable access directly through the mounting surface, and raised mounting embosses accept power and other accessories; 1/4-inch boss detents on 12-inch centers give installers field flexibility to add a custom plywood, aluminum, or steel sub-plate inside the cabinet. The mirror-image back pan permits left or right hinging of the center section regardless of orientation, the side lock system joins the center section to the back pan so one person can install it safely, and an interchangeable right- or left-hand cylinder lock secures the enclosure. Sixteen conduit knockouts on the top of the rear section and sixteen on the bottom handle conduit entries and wireless antenna pass-throughs, while perforated side vents and removable 3RU top and bottom panels accept Atlas EFP/ES Series fan panels for active cooling of rack-mounted electronics. An optional CT31A caster is available to carry the weight of the center section during service. For fan panels, locks, and full wall rack accessory packages, talk to the team at Creation Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does standard 19-inch equipment fit the WMA16-23?
Yes. The adjustable rails are tapped 10-32 on standard EIA spacing, so any 19-inch rack-mount AV, network, or security equipment installs directly.
How deep can mounted equipment be?
The center section is 18 inches deep and the total cabinet depth is 23-1/2 inches, leaving rear clearance for connectors and cabling behind most commercial amplifiers and switches.
Can one installer mount this cabinet?
The side lock system is designed so the center section can be safely joined to the wall-mounted back pan by one person. At 121 lbs shipping weight, plan wall anchoring into structural framing per the install sheet.
Can the swing direction be changed?
Yes. The mirror-image back pan supports left- or right-hand hinging of the center section regardless of cabinet orientation, and the cylinder lock is interchangeable for either hand.
How is active cooling added?
Removable 3RU panels at the top and bottom of the center section accept Atlas ES Series single or dual fan panels; the cabinet ships with blank panels installed. Creation Networks can bundle fan panels with your order.
What warranty applies?
AtlasIED covers the WMA16-23 for 60 months from date of purchase, and Creation Networks provides pre-sale layout help and post-sale support on AtlasIED rack systems.
