The Atlas Sound VT-152UCN is a UL Listed, IP56-rated surface-mount compression driver loudspeaker with a factory-installed 15-watt 25V transformer, designed for emergency voice/tone fire protective signaling systems. Part of the patented VT Series, it meets or exceeds UL Standard 1480 when used with compatible control equipment, making it a code-compliant choice for mass notification, public address, and industrial paging applications. The die-cast, water-sealed housing withstands vandalism, vermin, moisture, corrosion, and vibration in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Product Description
The VT-152UCN delivers high sound pressure levels from a compact compression driver assembly, offering 96.9 dB sensitivity at 1 watt/1 meter and greater than 190° dispersion at the −6 dB point across 1 kHz and 2 kHz octave bands — a key advantage in emergency signaling applications where sound must reach occupants across a wide horizontal plane. Frequency response covers 600 Hz to 5.5 kHz, optimized for voice intelligibility and tone signal reproduction. Power taps of 15, 8, 4, and 2 watts provide flexibility for matching speaker load to amplifier capacity in a 25V distributed system. An internal DC blocking capacitor enables the VT-152UCN to operate on supervised speaker lines, a requirement for UL-compliant fire alarm audio systems. Speaker wiring terminates to a barrier strip for straightforward field connections. The die-cast housing is water-sealed to IP56, protecting against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets, making the unit appropriate for covered outdoor areas, industrial facilities, gymnasiums, and food processing environments. The Neutral Gray finish (N suffix) provides a low-profile appearance in commercial spaces. Surface-mount models in the VT Series mount to standard 4" electrical outlet boxes; optional accessories including indoor/outdoor enclosures, bi-directional housings, adapter plates, and rings are available separately. Red-finish variants are available by substituting the R suffix.
