The white epoxy textured finish and flush or surface-mount installation options allow clean integration into wall and ceiling assemblies.
Product Description
The VP161A-R8 recessed vandal-proof baffle provides a protective enclosure for 8" cone speakers in environments where speaker security is a primary concern. The cast aluminum frame is made from a special self-aging alloy rated at 44,000 P.S.I. tensile strength, providing a durable housing that resists deformation from impact or deliberate tampering. The speaker grille is reinforced with a perforated cold-rolled steel (CRS) stud-mounting plate that secures the speaker driver in place. Installation hardware consists of heat-treated alloy screws that are countersunk within the baffle frame, requiring the included special wrench for removal—deterring unauthorized access. A neoprene gasket provides an acoustic seal between the baffle and the mounting surface, reducing sound leakage and improving audio quality. The perforated grille material has been updated to stainless steel for increased corrosion resistance and long-term durability. Stainless steel studs secure the speaker cone assembly within the frame. The baffle is finished in textured white epoxy for a clean institutional appearance. The unit may be installed recessed (flush) or surface-mounted depending on the wall or ceiling construction. BAA and TAA compliant, making it suitable for government and federally funded projects.
