The Atlas Sound SD72 is an 8" dual cone in-ceiling loudspeaker with a factory-installed 25V/70.7V line-matching transformer for commercial distributed audio systems. With a 97 dB sensitivity, 55 Hz – 19 kHz frequency response, and five transformer tap selections from 0.25 to 5 watts, the SD72 delivers consistent speech intelligibility and background music performance across 70V distributed systems. It is UL Listed to UL 1480 and UL 2043, and mounts to the wide range of AtlasIED round and square baffles and enclosures.

Product Description

The SD72 represents the next generation of AtlasIED's high-performance cone speaker line, building on the characteristics of the C-Series with consistent sonic qualities that AV integrators familiar with AtlasIED products will recognize. The speaker uses a 25-watt 8" (205 mm) driver with a 10 oz. (260 g) ceramic magnet and a curvilinear treated paper cone, which reduces harmonic distortion compared to standard paper cone designs. The 1" diameter copper voice coil is wound on a black anodized aluminum former, improving power dissipation and thermal headroom for continuous commercial use. The factory-installed 25V/70.7V transformer includes tap selections of 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, and 5 watts, giving system designers precise control over power distribution across multiple zones. With a 105° dispersion angle (2 kHz octave band, -6 dB), the SD72 provides wide coverage suitable for open ceiling installations. UL 1480 listing confirms fire resistance suitability, and UL 2043 listing confirms plenum air-handling space suitability. Each unit is individually packaged for stocking and installation efficiency. The SD72 installs into a broad range of AtlasIED baffles and enclosures to meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of different commercial ceiling types.
