Product Overview
The Atlas Sound P78-8 is an 8" polystyrene plastic mounting ring with integrated mounting ears, designed for conventional installation in 16" (406mm) stud ceilings. It is an economical, lightweight solution for mounting 8" speaker baffles and assemblies in both new construction and retrofit ceiling applications. Four J-nuts are included for a complete, ready-to-install package.
Product Description
The Atlas Sound P78-8 provides AV integrators with a reliable, cost-effective method for mounting 8" speaker assemblies in stud-frame ceiling constructions spaced at 16" on center. The polystyrene plastic construction keeps the ring lightweight while providing sufficient rigidity for securing compatible baffles and enclosures. Integrated mounting ears allow the ring to be fastened directly to ceiling joists or framing, making it well suited for standard drywall and conventional construction. Four J-nuts are included, providing the hardware needed to mount the baffle or speaker assembly without additional fasteners. The P78-8 is also appropriate for retrofit applications where ceiling access is limited, as the plastic construction allows some flexibility during installation. Compatible baffles include the 51-8, 60-8(W), 61-8W, 62-8, 63-8, 170-8, M222(W), and P900 — covering a broad range of AtlasIED 8" speaker products. TAA compliance makes this mounting ring suitable for qualifying institutional and government procurement. The 60-month warranty provides five years of coverage from the date of purchase.
