The Atlas Sound M812-S2T7-BX-RS is an 8" sound masking loudspeaker assembly designed for installation in suspended tile ceiling systems. The unit includes a square enclosure, an 8" dual-cone driver, and a 70.7V (T7) transformer, fully assembled and wired for straightforward deployment in commercial speech privacy and sound masking applications. It is cUL listed, TAA compliant, and BAA compliant, making it suitable for government and institutional installations.
Product Description
The M812-S2T7-BX-RS enclosure provides a cubic content of 529 cu. in. (0.087 m³), sized for the C10A 8" diameter driver that is included in the assembly. The speaker mounting plate does not include a perforated grille, positioning the speaker cone fully exposed toward the plenum space for upward sound dispersion—the standard orientation for above-tile sound masking systems. The assembly is finished in black epoxy to blend with ceiling plenum environments. The 70.7V transformer features four selectable power taps at 0.5, 1, 2, and 5 watts, allowing system designers to set consistent sound pressure levels across large zones. Frequency response spans 100 Hz to 10 kHz, covering the masking signal bandwidth used in most commercial sound masking processors. Peak sensitivity is 97 dB with an average of 94 dB. The assembly comes completely wired, reducing installation time and the potential for field wiring errors. The 60-month warranty reflects the build quality expected for a permanently installed commercial AV component.
