The Atlas Sound M1000-W is an 8-inch dual cone sound masking speaker with a 4-watt 70.7V transformer, housed in a 734 cubic inch square white enclosure designed for deployment in open plenum and above-ceiling spaces. This 70V sound masking speaker uses a square enclosure with EZ hang snap brackets for fast upward, downward, or horizontal installation in commercial office spaces, healthcare facilities, and open-plan environments where speech privacy is required. UL 1480 and UL 2043 listed for air-handling (plenum) spaces.

Product Description

The M1000-W sound masking speaker assembly is engineered to accurately reproduce the masking signal spectrum into the plenum space. The 734 cubic inch square enclosure provides greater internal volume than round compact designs, supporting extended low-frequency response — a key factor in effective speech privacy masking. The included 8-inch dual cone speaker is matched with a high-efficiency 70.7V internal transformer connected to an external tap selector switch with positions at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 watts plus an 8-ohm direct tap, enabling system-level tuning without supplemental attenuation hardware. The exclusive AtlasIED EZ hang snap bracket system simplifies installation: the two collapsible plated hangers are factory-installed on the enclosure, fold flat for shipping, and allow quick upward, downward, or horizontal orientation to meet plenum routing requirements. The innovative input panel on the enclosure includes combination knockouts and a strain relief connector that accommodates flexible or rigid conduit, enabling compliance with local code requirements for wiring methods. Through-connections are supported on the removable panel. White epoxy finish blends with standard ceiling tile, suspended grid systems, and painted ductwork. This product requires a compatible masking generator and 70.7V amplifier — these are not included.
