Product Overview
The Atlas Sound IPS-ZC4 is a SIP-to-analog paging gateway that bridges VoIP phone systems to analog overhead paging amplifiers across four output zones. It registers directly with a SIP server or VoIP communications manager as a standard SIP endpoint, making it the connection point between an enterprise telephony platform and a legacy 70V paging system. PoE 802.3af power and web-based configuration keep installation simple for IT and AV integration teams. Facilities that need building-wide announcements from desk phones, without third-party notification software, are the primary use case.
Product Description

The IPS-ZC4 extends communication off the network to create analog overhead paging systems in environments where the SIP server or VoIP communications manager may not support paging natively. The gateway registers as a SIP device per RFC 3261 and provides up to 15 paging groups using its four zone outputs, so a single dialed extension can target one zone, a custom group of zones, or all zones at once. When a caller dials a paging number, the IPS-ZC4 opens a one-way voice path to the analog outputs designated for that page, feeding any downstream 70V paging amplifier at a nominal +2 dBm output level. In Cisco deployments, the gateway joins Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) as a supported endpoint, preserving local paging capability when a WAN outage interrupts access to the centralized Cisco Unified Communications Manager — a capability that matters most during emergencies, which may be the cause of the outage itself. Delayed paging and night ringer functions cover common facility workflows such as after-hours call alerting in warehouses and service areas. Power arrives over the same Ethernet drop via PoE 802.3af, or through a 48VDC input where PoE switching is not available, and the dual-speed 10/100 Mbps interface fits any standard enterprise network. Configuration is handled through a built-in web interface, so IT staff can manage SIP registration, zone mapping, and paging groups without proprietary software. The wide -30° to 55° C operating range permits installation in telecom closets, warehouses, and other unconditioned equipment spaces. Key Features
- Four Analog Paging Zones — Independent zone outputs let one gateway serve separate areas such as office, warehouse, and exterior paging circuits.
- Fifteen Paging Zone Groups — Configurable groups allow callers to page any combination of zones, including page-all, from a single dialed number.
- SIP RFC 3261 Compatible — Registers directly to standard SIP servers and IP/PBX platforms without middleware or third-party notification applications.
- Cisco SRST Support — Operates as a supported endpoint in Cisco Survivable Remote Site Telephony architecture, keeping paging alive during WAN outages.
- PoE 802.3af Powered — A single network cable delivers both data and power, with a 48VDC input option for non-PoE installations.
- Delayed Paging and Night Ringer — Built-in functions support pre-announce workflows and after-hours call alerting over the paging system.
- Web-Based Configuration — Browser-accessible setup for SIP credentials, zone assignments, and group mapping with no client software.
- Wide Operating Temperature — Rated from -30° to 55° C for reliable operation in IDF closets and industrial spaces.
Typical Applications
- Government space public address and critical alert distribution
- Commercial meeting space and office overhead paging
- House of worship campus paging tied to the phone system
- Training room and multi-purpose room announcement zones
- Auditorium and back-of-house paging integration

Frequently Asked Questions
Which phone systems work with the IPS-ZC4?
The gateway is SIP RFC 3261 compatible and registers with standard SIP servers and IP/PBX platforms, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager environments with SRST support.
Does the IPS-ZC4 amplify speakers directly?
No. It outputs a line-level analog signal (+2 dBm nominal) to feed a paging amplifier or 70V amplifier, which then drives the speaker circuits.
How is the unit powered?
Power over Ethernet (802.3af) from a standard PoE switch, or a 48VDC input where PoE is not available. No separate power supply is required in PoE installations.
Can one extension page all four zones at once?
Yes. The 15 configurable paging groups include page-all, so a single dialed number can address any combination of the four zone outputs.
What happens to paging during a WAN outage in a Cisco deployment?
The IPS-ZC4 joins Cisco SRST endpoint architecture, so local paging continues from on-site phones even when the central Unified Communications Manager is unreachable.
What warranty and support are included?
AtlasIED warrants the IPS-ZC4 for 60 months from purchase, and Creation Networks provides system design assistance and post-sale technical support.
