The AtlasIED IPS-VOI is a vandal-resistant, weather-resistant VoIP outdoor intercom station built for SIP-based communication systems. It registers directly to a SIP platform as a network endpoint, delivering call-in signaling and full-duplex talkback at guard gates, building entrances, loading docks, and other exposed locations. With an IP65 rating and PoE 802.3af power, it installs over a single network cable in environments subject to moisture, dust, corrosion, vibration, and temperature extremes. Product Description

The IPS-VOI leverages existing WAN/LAN network architecture, so an outdoor intercom installation becomes a network drop rather than a dedicated cable run back to a head-end. A single call-in button initiates a SIP call to any extension, group, or attendant console, and adaptive full-duplex voice operation allows natural two-way conversation without push-to-talk switching. Network web management gives IT and facilities teams remote control of speaker volume, microphone sensitivity, and firmware updates — no truck roll required for adjustments.

In Cisco environments, the IPS-VOI joins Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) as a supported endpoint, maintaining local call processing if the WAN link to Cisco Unified Communications Manager goes down — a critical capability during emergencies, which are often the cause of the outage itself. The station doubles as a SIP paging speaker, extending mass notification coverage to entrances and perimeter areas. An onboard dry relay contact controls external devices such as door strikes or gate operators, and door closure plus tamper alert signaling supports security system integration.
