Product Overview
The AtlasIED IP-SDH is a PoE+ indoor wall mount IP horn speaker with an integrated LCD display, designed for network paging and mass notification in high ambient noise environments. Its 15-watt compression driver in a double re-entrant horn design produces up to 120 dB peak SPL, cutting through machinery, crowds, and HVAC noise where standard cone speakers fall short. As part of the AtlasIED IPX Series, it registers natively as an endpoint in InformaCast, Revolution, and GlobalControlKom, or directly to a SIP server. One network drop delivers power, audio, and scrolling text notification in a single wall-mounted device.
Product Description
The IP-SDH addresses a specific problem in commercial IP paging system design: delivering intelligible voice announcements in loud or acoustically difficult spaces. The double re-entrant horn provides superior sound level output for voice and tone alert notification compared to conventional drivers, with a 600 Hz – 14 kHz response tuned for speech.

In standby, the LCD display shows NTP-synchronized time, replacing a separate master clock system. When an alert fires, the display switches to scrolling text, pairing visual notification with audio broadcast — a configuration that supports ADA Title II effective communication requirements for government and public facilities. For school mass notification systems and industrial paging deployments, the IP-SDH handles bell schedules, pre-recorded announcements, and emergency alerting from a single enterprise platform. Auto-registration provisions the speaker on the voice VLAN like a VoIP handset, sharing the same QoS policies, while secure web configuration and auto provisioning streamline rollouts across many endpoints. GPI/O ports include an emergency alert trigger and relay output for tying in third-party systems, and an aux audio input plus primary and aux speaker outputs extend coverage. The 18-gauge powder-coated steel grille stands up to commercial and industrial conditions, with flush, surface, and slanted wall enclosures sold separately. See the full AtlasIED collection at Creation Networks for companion IPX endpoints.
Key Features
- High-Output Horn Driver — 15 W compression driver in a double re-entrant horn delivers 120 dB peak SPL for intelligible paging over high ambient noise.
- LCD Display with NTP Clock and Scrolling Text — Shows synchronized time in standby and scrolling alert text during notifications, eliminating separate master clocks.
- Native Notification Platform Registration — Auto-registers as an endpoint in InformaCast, Revolution, or GlobalControlKom applications.
- SIP Compatible — Registers directly to a SIP server or VoIP communications manager where third-party notification software is not required.
- PoE/PoE+ Powered — IEEE 802.3af (12 W max) or 802.3at (25 W max) compliant, with an external power supply option available.
- Emergency Alert Trigger and Relay Output — GPI/O ports trigger critical alerts and connect third-party systems such as strobes or door contacts.
- Multicast and Scripting Support — Static multicast audio reception and custom event notification scripting extend system flexibility.
- Primary and Aux Speaker Outputs — Extends audio coverage to an additional zone from one network endpoint.
- Commercial-Grade Construction — 18-gauge powder-coated steel grille with factory-assembled horn, grille, and amp/control board.

Frequently Asked Questions
What notification platforms does the IP-SDH support?
The IP-SDH natively auto-registers as an endpoint in Singlewire InformaCast, Syn-Apps Revolution, and GlobalControlKom notification applications, supporting both audio broadcast and scrolling visual text.
Can it work without third-party notification software?
Yes. The IP-SDH is SIP compatible and can register directly to a SIP server or VoIP communications manager for paging and critical alert applications.
How is the IP-SDH different from the IP-SDM?
The IP-SDH uses a horn compression driver delivering 120 dB peak SPL for high-noise environments, while the IP-SDM uses an 8-inch coaxial cone driver and adds a talkback microphone for two-way intercom. Choose the IP-SDH where output level is the priority.
What mounting hardware is required?
Enclosures are sold separately: IP-FEST-SD for flush in-wall, IP-SEST-SD for surface on-wall, and IP-SEA-SD for slanted on-wall installation. The speaker ships with mounting screws.
Does it need local power?
No. The IP-SDH runs on PoE at up to 12 W (802.3af) or PoE+ at up to 25 W (802.3at) from a single network drop. An external power supply option is available.
What warranty and support are included?
AtlasIED backs the IP-SDH with a 60-month warranty from date of purchase. Creation Networks provides pre-sale system design assistance and post-sale support for IPX Series deployments.
