The Atlas Sound IP-22SYSP is an installer-friendly 2' x 2' suspended ceiling mount passive speaker designed as an extension for powered IPX series products. Operating at 8 ohms only, it expands announcement and background music coverage in schools, corporate offices, government facilities, houses of worship, and light commercial installations. Its industrial design matches the IP-22SYSM active speaker, allowing mixed active/passive deployments to appear visually consistent throughout a facility.
Product Description
The IP-22SYSP eliminates the cost and wiring complexity of traditional 70V/100V distributed audio by operating as a direct 8-ohm low-impedance extension of an active IPX endpoint via the secondary speaker output. This makes it well-suited for spaces where additional coverage points are needed without additional IP infrastructure. The speaker uses a direct-drive 8-inch loudspeaker with a wide 120° horizontal by 100° vertical dispersion pattern, achieving 95dB sensitivity and a calculated maximum SPL of 105dB at 1 meter. The fully perforated grille and durable metal backcan and baffle ensure consistent appearance and long-term structural integrity in suspended tile ceiling grids. Cable termination is handled via a metal electrical box with 22 AWG bare wire leads. The IP-22SYSP carries UL1480 and UL2043 certifications, qualifying it for use in air handling spaces above suspended ceilings. Dimensions are 5.01" H x 23.69" W x 24.10" D, and it ships at 21.65 lbs. Warranted for 60 months from purchase.
