Product Overview

The AtlasIED IP-22SYSM is a PoE+ IP ceiling speaker with talkback microphone built for network-wide paging, intercom, and mass notification in commercial buildings. Designed as a drop-in 2' x 2' suspended ceiling mount IP speaker, it replaces a standard ceiling tile and registers directly with InformaCast, Revolution, or any SIP server. Its 8-inch coaxial driver delivers the output needed for large rooms and high-ambient-noise areas where smaller VoIP speakers fall short. For integrators standardizing on a single enterprise communications platform, it brings paging, bell schedules, and two-way intercom onto the existing LAN.

Product Description

AtlasIED IP-22SYSM 2x2 suspended ceiling IP speaker with talkback microphone

The IP-22SYSM extends VoIP communication into spaces where intelligible, high-output audio is essential. The 8" LF / 1" HF coaxial speaker is voice-optimized with 98 dB SPL average sensitivity and 86 Hz - 15.5 kHz frequency response, making it a strong choice for school IP paging system deployments, warehouse floors, and transportation hubs. As a network endpoint, it registers as a communication device within InformaCast and Revolution advanced notification applications for bell schedules, pre-recorded scheduled announcements, and emergency alerting. Where third-party notification software is not required, it registers as a SIP paging speaker directly to a SIP server or VoIP communications manager for two-way calls and critical alerts.

An omnidirectional electret condenser talkback microphone mounted behind the grille enables two-way intercom and room monitoring from any PC or phone handset. Auto-provisioning and auto-registration let installers configure units on the Voice VLAN like a VoIP handset, sharing the same QoS policies as the phone system. Construction is commercial-grade: an 18-gauge metal grille with a perforated 22-gauge screen over the driver, finished in neutral white electrostatic powder coat to blend into standard ceiling grids. The speaker, grille, and PCB amp/control board ship factory-assembled with mounting hardware, reducing labor during commercial AV installation. GPI/O ports (2 inputs, 1 output rated 2A @ 30 VDC) trigger critical alert notification or tie in third-party systems, and balanced aux line-in/line-out connections support local audio sources.

Key Features

  • PoE+ Powered Single-Cable Install — Operates at 12 W max on 802.3af or 25 W max on 802.3at PoE+, so one Cat5e/6 run delivers both power and audio.
  • Talkback Microphone — Integrated omnidirectional condenser mic supports two-way intercom and room monitoring from any networked PC or handset.
  • InformaCast and Revolution Endpoint — Registers natively with Singlewire InformaCast and Syn-Apps Revolution for mass notification, bell schedules, and scheduled announcements.
  • Direct SIP Registration — Functions as a SIP endpoint with a VoIP communications manager when third-party notification software is not used, supporting G.711 and G.722 wideband audio.
  • High-Output 8" Coaxial Driver — 98 dB SPL average sensitivity and 15-watt integrated amplifier overcome high ambient noise in large open spaces.
  • Drop-In 2' x 2' Ceiling Tile Form Factor — Replaces a standard suspended ceiling tile for a clean, fast lay-in installation.
  • Auto-Provisioning on the Voice VLAN — Auto-registration via SLP, DHCP Option 72, or IEDNet+ configures the speaker like a VoIP phone and inherits existing QoS.
  • GPI/O for System Integration — Two general-purpose inputs and one relay output (2A @ 30 VDC) trigger alerts or connect access control and security systems.
  • Balanced Aux Line-In/Line-Out — Connects local program sources or daisy-chains analog audio alongside network paging.
  • Factory-Assembled Commercial Construction — 18-gauge metal grille, powder-coat finish, and included mounting hardware reduce on-site labor.

Typical Applications

  • Government spaces requiring networked emergency notification and paging
  • Houses of worship with overflow and lobby paging zones
  • Commercial meeting spaces and multi-purpose rooms tied to a VoIP platform
  • Training rooms and all-hands rooms needing announcements plus two-way intercom
  • Auditorium lobbies and corridors within a campus paging system
