The Atlas Sound IP-12SYSP is an installer-friendly 1' x 2' suspended ceiling mount passive speaker designed as an extension component for powered IPX series products. At 8 ohms only, it expands announcement and background music coverage without the cost and wiring complexity of 70V/100V distributed audio. Its industrial design matches the IP-12SYSM active speaker for visually consistent mixed-system deployments in schools, corporate offices, government facilities, and light commercial installations.
Product Description
The IP-12SYSP connects directly to the secondary speaker output of an active IPX endpoint, functioning as a direct 8-ohm extension without requiring a step-down transformer. This simplifies wiring in spaces needing additional coverage points beyond an existing IPX deployment. The speaker uses a direct-drive 8-inch loudspeaker with a sensitivity of 95dB SPL and a wide 120° horizontal by 130° vertical dispersion angle, providing broad coverage in open-plan ceiling environments. Calculated maximum SPL at 1 meter is 105dB. The unit’s 1' x 2' form factor fits standard half-tile suspended ceiling grids, and its fully perforated grille, durable metal backcan, baffle, and metal electrical box for cable termination ensure a professional installation finish. Connection is via 22 AWG bare wire leads. UL1480 and UL2043 certifications qualify it for use in plenum air handling spaces. Dimensions are 5.01" H x 23.69" W x 12.10" D at 9.25 lbs. Warranted for 60 months from purchase.
