The relays are controlled remotely using actions configured in the GLOBALCOM GCK application and 5400 Designer control software, so an integrator can trigger door strikes, signage, or other equipment from the same platform driving paging and announcements. The two optically-isolated inputs can trigger actions or serve as logic monitor points that register faults in the system. The module is powered over IEEE 802.3af PoE and communicates with other system devices over Ethernet, with fully supervised system voltage and internal temperature monitoring, and settings stored in non-volatile memory.
