The Atlas Sound GD87 is an 8-inch in-ceiling coaxial loudspeaker with a factory-installed 8-watt 70.7V line matching transformer, designed for commercial distributed audio systems. It delivers performance specifications identical to the AtlasIED Model C803A, making it a direct upgrade or drop-in expansion for existing C803A installations. Product Description

The GD87 combines an 8-inch low-frequency woofer with a 3-inch high-frequency tweeter in a coaxial configuration, coupled through a built-in crossover network. The woofer uses a 10-oz. ceramic magnet, and the tweeter uses a 2.35-oz. ceramic magnet. Both drivers use treated paper cones for controlled frequency response and long-term reliability under continuous operation. The post-mounted tweeter design adds structural strength to the assembly while presenting an aesthetically clean appearance at the ceiling grille. Frequency response spans 55 Hz to 15 kHz at rated sensitivity of 96 dB (1W/1m), with a broad 105-degree dispersion angle that provides even coverage in rooms with varied occupancy patterns. The factory-installed 70.7V transformer features an insertion loss of no more than 0.6 dB and covers the full audio frequency range within +1 dB from 50 Hz to 15 kHz. Primary taps at 1, 2, 4, and 8 watts give system designers precise control over individual zone levels within a distributed 70V audio network.
