The Atlas Sound FD72W is a complete 8-inch in-ceiling speaker assembly for 25V and 70.7V distributed audio systems, combining a treated-paper cone loudspeaker, dual-voltage transformer, and 62-8 style screw-type grille baffle in a single factory-assembled package. It is suited for commercial paging and background music applications in retail, hospitality, healthcare, and institutional environments where a UL-listed, all-in-one ceiling speaker solution is required at 25V or 70V system voltage.
Product Description
The FD72W integrates a conventional cone loudspeaker with a 1-inch voice coil, providing clean voice and music reproduction across a 100 Hz to 10 kHz frequency range. The factory-mounted 25V/70.7V transformer supports four power tap selections — 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 watts — giving installers flexibility to balance power distribution across zones in both 25-volt and 70-volt system architectures. Sensitivity is rated at 97 dB peak and 94 dB average, and the 105-degree dispersion angle provides wide coverage from each installation point. The speaker and transformer are pre-mounted on the 62-8 style baffle, which can also be installed on standard tile bridges, enclosures, and plaster rings, offering flexibility for different ceiling construction types. The white finish on the baffle assembly integrates cleanly with commercial tile and drywall ceilings. The FD72W is UL Listed and CUL Listed, and an optional hydrophobic treatment is available for installations in humid environments. A 60-month warranty is included.
