Product Overview
The Atlas Sound FAPR-6 is a galvanized steel plaster ring designed to mount 6-inch Strategy Series speakers into ceilings and walls when a back-can enclosure is not required or cannot be used. It shares the same internal mounting flange as the FA97-6 and FA95-6 enclosures, ensuring full compatibility with the complete 6-inch Strategy Series speaker lineup. The FAPR-6 is UL1480 listed and used extensively in commercial, hospitality, and institutional in-ceiling speaker installations.
Product Description
The FAPR-6 plaster ring is the preferred mounting solution when back-can enclosures cannot be installed due to ceiling depth limitations or are simply not required by the system design. It is constructed of galvanized steel to resist corrosion over the life of the installation. Four threaded inserts are provided for positive loudspeaker attachment, and three stud receptacles on the flange accept the ribbed weld studs on Strategy I Series grilles for direct, tool-free grille installation. Three rotating flip-tab dog ear clamps (included) engage the back side of the ceiling or wall surface to secure the plaster ring after speaker placement. Non-transformer speaker models require a minimum wall or ceiling depth of 3.5 inches; transformer-equipped models require a minimum of 5.5 inches. The shared mounting flange geometry means installers working across a mix of plaster ring and enclosure installations use the same grilles and speakers without modification. UL1480 listing confirms the FAPR-6 is suitable for general signaling applications including background music and paging. The 60-month warranty makes this a reliable long-term component for commercial AV buildouts.
