The Atlas Sound FAP40T-B is a 4-inch in-ceiling loudspeaker with an integrated 16-watt 70.7V/100V transformer, sold as a pair in black finish. Designed for commercial, institutional, and industrial distributed audio systems, it delivers high-intelligibility voice and music reproduction from a compact, low-profile enclosure. The FAP40T-B fits 70-volt paging and background music systems and meets UL 1480 safety standards.
Product Description
The FAP40T-B uses a 4-inch polypropylene single-cone driver paired with a unique tap selector switch that also functions as a diffuser cone, smoothing high-frequency dispersion across a 130-degree coverage angle. This design produces a natural high-frequency response that rivals coaxial drivers without the added complexity. A tuned, ported enclosure extends low-frequency response below what a sealed back-box design can achieve. The 16-watt internal transformer offers taps at 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 watts, plus an 8-ohm bypass for direct amplifier connections. A two-pole terminal strip with removable metal cover simplifies field wiring and supports daisy-chain runs to additional FAP40T units or FASUB70 subwoofers. The press-fit grille integrates cleanly into contemporary drywall or tile ceilings. A tile bridge is included for suspended ceiling grid installations. Lightweight construction eliminates the need for supplemental drywall support hardware.
