The Atlas Sound FA95-8 is a recessed ceiling enclosure with flip-tab dog-ear mounting legs, designed for use with AtlasIED's 8-inch Strategy I series loudspeakers in commercial, institutional, and industrial ceiling installations. The enclosure creates a sealed acoustic system by mounting the speaker directly to the enclosure body, and it is listed under UL1480 and UL2042 for use in general signaling and plenum ceiling applications. It is Made in the USA and meets BAA and TAA compliance requirements for government procurement.
Product Description
The FA95-8 is an acoustically treated recessed enclosure specifically engineered for the Strategy I 8-inch speaker series. The recessed lip in the opening seats the speaker directly against the enclosure, forming a sealed system that improves bass performance and prevents sound from leaking into the ceiling plenum. Flip-tab dog-ear mounting legs extend outward during installation to grip ceiling material up to 2-3/8 inches thick, providing secure mounting without above-ceiling access or supplemental hardware. Tubular spring clips on the flanged face accept ribbed weld studs on Strategy I series grilles, supporting push-mount style grille attachment that does not require the grille to bear any structural load. This design allows the use of lightweight push-mount grilles that can be removed without tools for maintenance access. The FA95-8 is shallower than the FA97-8 model, making it appropriate for installations with limited ceiling clearance where extended low-frequency response is not the primary requirement. For applications requiring deeper low-frequency extension, the FA97-8 is specified instead. The enclosure is CUL listed and carries BAA, TAA, and Made in USA designations.
