Product Description
The FA138T327 combines Atlas Sound’s FA138 premium coaxial driver with a 32-watt 70.7V transformer, offering three power tap settings (8W, 16W, and 32W) for flexible 70-volt system zoning. The speaker utilizes a Kevlar fiber-reinforced polypropylene cone woofer mated to a custom butyl rubber surround and a 1-1/2" vented Kapton voice coil, providing clean, controlled bass response. A tapered backplate increases magnetic circuit efficiency, while a 21 oz. magnet assembly and 1.2" mylar dome ferro-fluid tweeter deliver extended high-frequency reproduction up to 20 kHz. An onboard circuit board-mounted high-pass/low-pass crossover network optimizes driver integration. The coaxial architecture provides a 110° wide dispersion pattern, reducing the number of speakers required for even coverage in open-plan ceilings. The unit front-loads into Atlas Sound acoustically matched enclosures, plaster rings, or trim rings, and the patented installation system eliminates the need for separate mounting hardware in many applications. Optional system components include acoustic enclosures, tile bridges, plaster rings, and hardware-free grilles. Weather-resistant driver materials extend the FA138’s serviceable life in high-humidity environments such as natatoriums or commercial kitchens when used with appropriate enclosures.
