Product Overview
The Atlas Sound FA138T167 is a premium 8" coaxial in-ceiling loudspeaker with a factory-installed 16-watt 70.7V transformer, designed for commercial distributed audio installations requiring full-frequency response and high-fidelity reproduction. Part of the Strategy Series I system, it is engineered for use with Atlas Sound’s FA97-8 and FA95-8 series enclosures or the FAPR-8 plaster ring in limited-depth applications. The FA138T167 is UL1480 listed for general signaling applications.
Product Description
The FA138T167 features a reinforced polypropylene cone woofer with a custom butyl rubber surround, a 1 1/2" vented Kapton voice coil, a 21 oz. magnet, and a 1/2" mylar-dome ferrofluid-cooled tweeter for clean high-frequency reproduction. A circuit board-mounted high-pass/low-pass crossover network is included for proper driver integration without external crossover components. The integral 16-watt 70.7V transformer delivers a 40 Hz to 15 kHz frequency response (±1 dB) with selectable 4, 8, and 16-watt primary taps for zone-level adjustment in 70V distributed systems. The speaker’s 110° dispersion provides broad coverage for open ceiling plans. Average sensitivity is 89.5 dB with a 93 dB peak, suitable for voice and music reproduction in commercial spaces. The FA138T167 front-loads into Strategy Series enclosures using only a screwdriver to operate rotating clamps, simplifying ceiling installation. The baffle attachment uses three serrated push-on studs for tool-free grille installation. At 8 1/4" diameter and 5 3/4" depth, it fits standard commercial ceiling openings. Shipping weight is 7.42 lbs and the product carries a 60-month warranty.
