The FA136T87 (U.S. Patent #5206464) is a high-fidelity coaxial in-ceiling speaker engineered to deliver the acoustic output of a larger driver in a space-efficient 6-inch format. The patented coaxial design positions a post-mounted dome tweeter at the acoustic center of the woofer, producing a coherent, wide-dispersion sound field at 130 degrees for consistent coverage across conference rooms, classrooms, retail spaces, and open-plan offices. The reinforced polypropylene woofer cone and synthetic rubber surround provide structural integrity, effective damping, and moisture resistance for long-term reliability in variable climate environments. The mylar diaphragm dome tweeter uses a ferrofluid-cooled voice coil to maintain smooth high-frequency response and consistent power handling during extended operation. The 8-watt 70V transformer supports power tap settings at 1, 2, 4, and 8 watts for load management in multi-speaker 70V distribution systems. At 88dB average and 91dB peak sensitivity, the FA136T87 produces clear, audible output with standard commercial amplification. The Strategy I Series enclosure system supports installation with the FA97-6 high-performance back box (0.17 ft3 with acoustic batting) or the economy FA95-6 back box (0.14 ft3) for ceiling applications, with a rotating clamp system that requires only a screwdriver.
