The Atlas Sound DT22 is a 2’ x 2’ drop-in ceiling speaker package designed for commercial paging and background music in acoustic tile grid ceilings. The all-in-one assembly—speaker, transformer, enclosure, and white panel grille—drops directly into a standard ceiling grid, eliminating the need for separate back cans or additional hardware. It is well-suited for retail, shopping malls, department stores, and any commercial space where large quantities of speakers must be installed quickly and cost-effectively. UL 1480 and UL 2043 listed.
Product Description
The DT22 simplifies speaker installation by packaging an 8-inch dual-cone driver, built-in 25V/70.7V transformer, enclosure, and grille into a single pre-assembled unit that drops into a 2’ x 2’ acoustic ceiling grid. No separate back box is required, and the solid white panel with punched speaker grille blends with standard commercial acoustic ceiling tiles for an unobtrusive finish. The transformer includes power taps at 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 watts, providing the flexibility needed to balance zone coverage in any 70V distributed audio system. The 8-inch dual-cone driver delivers a frequency response of 100 Hz to 5 kHz with 96 dB sensitivity—adequate for clear speech intelligibility and background music in retail and commercial environments. Dispersion at the 2 kHz octave band is 105 degrees at -6 dB, providing broad, even coverage from each mounting location. The DT22 ships at 11.3 lbs, and each unit is 23.9 inches in length and 4.53 inches in depth. A 60-month warranty is included.
