Product Description
The D161-8 is part of the Atlas Sound D Series in-ceiling speaker packages, combining all essential components into a single factory-wired assembly for efficient commercial audio deployment. The 8" dual-cone speaker (model C10A) uses a 10-ounce ceramic magnet for reliable low-to-mid frequency performance with a 97dB sensitivity rating and 105° dispersion angle, providing broad coverage in open-plan spaces with minimal speaker count. The speaker's treated paper cone is engineered for general-purpose paging and background music applications with a frequency response of 100Hz to 10kHz. The dual-voltage 25V/70.7V transformer includes pre-wired secondary leads with color-coded, stripped, and tinned primary connections for straightforward field wiring. Power taps at 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 watts allow zone-level management in distributed 70V audio systems. The included 161-8 square recessed grille features an attractive white epoxy finish that blends with standard commercial ceiling tile installations. To meet code requirements and accommodate a variety of ceiling constructions, optional recessed and surface-mounting enclosures, mounting rings, and tile bridge accessories are available separately. The cUL certification supports use in projects requiring safety-listed components. BAA and TAA compliant for government and institutionally funded construction projects.
