Product Overview
The Atlas Sound BMT95-8-7 is a blind-mount back enclosure designed for 8-inch loudspeaker installations in retrofit ceiling applications where above-ceiling access is not available. Covered under U.S. Patent #4,673,149, the BMT95-8-7 uses a telescoping mounting ear system that installs entirely from below the ceiling, securing the enclosure without requiring above-ceiling work. The extra-depth 7-inch configuration increases internal volume for improved bass extension compared to shallower enclosures.
Product Description
The BMT95-8-7 enclosure accommodates a wide range of AtlasIED baffles including the (T)51-8, (T)60-8(W), (T)61-8W, (T)62-8, 63-8, 67-8(W), 68-8W, 170-8, G22-8, T610-8W, T710-8, T720-8A, M222(W), TM222W, P900, and 60-R models. All necessary hardware is included in the box, with mounting ears that telescope outward from inside the enclosure and adjust vertically to accommodate ceiling thicknesses ranging from 1/2 inch (13 mm) to 1-3/8 inches (35 mm). The enclosure features CRS (cold-rolled steel) construction with a textured black epoxy finish. Three 1/2-inch (13 mm) conduit knockouts on the backplate provide flexible cable routing. Torsion-spring receptacles are built into the enclosure for quick grille installation, and J-nuts on the enclosure return accommodate surface-mounting grilles. High-density fiberglass fill is included to damp internal resonance and improve acoustic performance. The unit is BAA and TAA compliant, making it suitable for government and public-sector projects requiring domestic sourcing.
