The Atlas Sound BMT95-4-7 is a patented blind-mount in-ceiling speaker enclosure for 4-inch loudspeakers, engineered specifically for retrofit ceiling applications where direct access to the back of the ceiling is unavailable. The 7-inch deep extra-depth model provides increased internal volume for extended bass response, making it the preferred choice when acoustic performance is a priority alongside practical installation constraints. Constructed from cold-rolled steel with a textured black epoxy finish, the BMT95-4-7 includes all mounting hardware needed to complete a secure installation in ceilings ranging from 1/2 to 1-3/8 inches thick.

Product Description

The BMT95-4-7 operates under U.S. Patent #4,673,149, which covers the unique blind-mount support system that allows secure enclosure installation without access to the plenum side of the ceiling. Two mounting ears telescope out from inside the enclosure and adjust vertically to grip ceiling material between 1/2 inch (13mm) and 1-3/8 inches (35mm) thick — a range that covers standard drywall, plaster, and acoustic tile. The enclosure supports AtlasIED torsion-spring grille models T51-84 and T720-4BT, which mount standard 4-inch speakers; J-nuts on the enclosure return also accommodate surface-mounting grilles for additional installation flexibility. Three 1/2-inch conduit knockouts in the backplate facilitate cable entry, and factory-installed sound damping material on the interior walls suppresses metallic resonance. The 7-inch depth and included high-density fiberglass fill give this model noticeably better low-frequency extension than standard-depth alternatives, making it appropriate for background music applications where full-range performance from a small driver is needed.
