Product Overview
The AtlasIED BB-EB1616DT is a 16x16 Dante I/O expander that adds sixteen mic/line inputs and sixteen line outputs to a BlueBridge DSP system, or operates as a standalone digital snake on any Dante audio network. It is designed for commercial AV integrators who need to place analog I/O where the microphones and amplifiers actually are, then transport audio over standard Ethernet network infrastructure. Housed in a single rack space with per-channel signal LEDs, it suits equipment closets, stage racks, and remote I/O locations in networked audio installation projects. System designers specifying Dante audio transport for conference centers, courtrooms, and houses of worship will find it a straightforward way to scale channel counts.
Product Description

The BB-EB1616DT is a one rack space device with LED indicators for each channel plus network and power LEDs on the front panel, giving technicians at-a-glance signal confirmation during commercial audio system installation and troubleshooting. The rear panel carries dual RJ-45 connectors for Dante along with 16 balanced mic/line inputs and 16 balanced line-level outputs, all on Euro Block/Phoenix-style connectors for clean, serviceable terminations in equipment racks. Inputs are selectable between microphone and line level, with premium-grade THAT Corporation microphone preamps, software-enabled 48V phantom power, and high-performance 24-bit converters running at 48 kHz sampling through a 40-bit floating point DSP engine. The EB1616DT software allows inputs and outputs to be managed from either the BlueBridge processor side or the EB1616 end of the system, which simplifies multi-room AV system integration where racks are distributed across a facility. Deployed as an expander, it scales a BlueBridge DSP installation beyond the processor's onboard I/O; deployed independently, it serves as a 16x16 Dante digital snake moving stage or lectern audio to a control position over a single network run. Pair it with the BB-88DT processor and amplifiers from our AtlasIED collection to build a complete networked commercial audio system.
Key Features
- 16x16 Dante Network I/O — Transports sixteen channels in each direction over standard Ethernet for scalable networked audio installation.
- 16x16 Analog I/O — Sixteen balanced mic/line inputs and sixteen balanced line outputs on Phoenix-style connectors for serviceable rack terminations.
- Selectable Mic/Line Inputs — Each input switches between microphone and line level to match sources throughout the facility.
- THAT Corp Microphone Preamps — Premium-grade preamps with 0/+40 dB gain steps preserve low-noise performance on long network runs.
- 48V Phantom Power — Powers condenser microphones at lecterns, conference tables, and pulpits without external supplies.
- 48 kHz / 24-Bit Conversion — High-performance converters and a 40-bit floating point DSP engine maintain audio quality across the Dante network.
- Dual RJ-45 Dante Ports — Supports network connectivity on CAT5 cabling for integration into new or existing Dante infrastructures.
- Per-Channel Signal LEDs — Dual-color LEDs for every channel plus power and data status indicators speed commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Flexible Deployment — Works as a BlueBridge system I/O expander or as a standalone Dante digital snake.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the BB-EB1616DT require a BlueBridge processor?
No. It integrates into any BlueBridge system as an I/O expander, but it can also operate as a standalone 16x16 digital snake on any network running Dante.
How are the inputs and outputs managed?
The EB1616DT software lets you manage inputs and outputs from either the BlueBridge processor side or the EB1616 end of the system, whichever is more convenient for the installation.
What cabling does it use for Dante?
Dual RJ-45 ports carry Dante over CAT5 network cabling, so audio travels on standard Ethernet infrastructure rather than dedicated analog snakes.
Does it support condenser microphones?
Yes. 48V phantom power is available on the mic/line inputs, with THAT Corp preamps providing 0/+40 dB gain steps.
Will it work with third-party Dante devices?
Yes. As a Dante-enabled device it interoperates on Dante networks, making it usable for AV system integration alongside other Dante hardware.
What warranty applies?
AtlasIED covers the BB-EB1616DT with a 36-month warranty from date of purchase, and Creation Networks supports system design and configuration questions before and after the sale.
