Product Overview
The AtlasIED BB-168 BlueBridge is a 16x8 DSP audio processor designed for commercial installations where many sources — wireless microphones, program audio, paging stations — feed a moderate number of output zones. Sixteen software-selectable mic/line inputs and eight line outputs on Phoenix-style connectors make it a practical engine for conference room audio DSP installation, courtroom systems, and multi-zone paging processor duty in restaurants, offices, and worship facilities. Open-architecture, drag-and-drop programming gives designers full control of the signal path, while Ethernet connectivity supports networked DSP for commercial sound systems with third-party control.
Product Description
The BB-168 sits in the AtlasIED BlueBridge family between the smaller fixed-I/O models and the flagship BB-1616, offering the same input density with a leaner output stage for projects that distribute audio to eight or fewer zones. High-quality THAT Corp microphone preamps and 24-bit converters maintain an ultra-low noise floor, and the 48kHz, 40-bit floating point DSP engine prevents the internal digital clipping that fixed-point processors can exhibit under heavy processing loads.

The processing library includes gain-sharing and gating auto-mixers, matrix and standard mixers, parametric, graphic, and anti-feedback EQ, crossovers (Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley, Bessel from 6 to 48 dB per octave), compressors, expanders, limiters, duckers, delays, and tone/noise generators. Four logic inputs/outputs handle contact-closure events for paging triggers, partition sensors, and mute interfaces. TCP/IP controlled audio processor capability over Ethernet means control systems can manage levels, presets, and routing, and every BlueBridge unit on the network is automatically discovered. Atlas BluePanel software lets designers build custom end-user control pages and program wall controllers such as the BB-TOUCH7 touch panel for volume, source selection, and room combining, keeping end users out of the processor itself. AtlasIED also provides pre-configured design templates through its BlueBridge training program, reducing BlueBridge DSP integration time on common projects such as video conferencing rooms, presentation spaces, and background music systems. Pair the BB-168 with amplifiers and loudspeakers from our AtlasIED collection, or step up to the BB-1616 when a project needs sixteen outputs.
Key Features
- 16 Input x 8 Output Configuration — Handles high input counts with an efficient eight-zone output stage, matching the I/O profile of most mid-size commercial audio projects.
- Open Architecture Programmability — Drag-and-drop design software lets integrators build the exact signal chain each room requires.
- THAT Corp Microphone Preamps — Software-enabled 48V phantom power and an ultra-low noise floor support speech-critical applications.
- 40-Bit Floating Point DSP Engine — The 48kHz floating-point engine avoids digital clipping and supports complex algorithms in dense designs.
- Ethernet and TCP/IP Control — Network connectivity enables third-party control system integration with automatic device discovery.
- Full Processing Module Library — Auto-mixers, matrix mixers, parametric/graphic/anti-feedback EQ, crossovers, dynamics, delays, and generators are included.
- Four Logic Inputs/Outputs — Contact-closure logic integrates paging, life-safety muting, and room control hardware.
- BluePanel Custom Interfaces — Custom control pages and BB-TOUCH7 wall controllers give end users appropriate, limited control.
- Safety Listed to UL60065 — Listing documentation supports commercial and government specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I choose the BB-168 over the BB-1616?
Choose the BB-168 when the design needs many inputs but eight or fewer discrete output zones — typical for conference rooms, courtrooms, and restaurant paging systems. If the project requires more output zones or large room-combine matrices, the BB-1616 provides sixteen outputs on the same platform.
Does the BB-168 work with third-party control systems?
Yes. It supports TCP/IP control over Ethernet, so control processors can manage volume, presets, routing, and muting. Each BlueBridge device is auto-discovered on the network.
Is a network required for normal operation?
A network connection is needed during configuration and whenever remote control is used, but the processor runs standalone afterward. Optional wall controllers and touch panels require a PoE network switch.
Are the 16 inputs mic or line level?
Every input is software selectable between mic and line level with per-channel 48V phantom power, so one chassis can serve wireless receivers, program sources, and paging mics.
What software programs the BB-168?
AtlasIED's open-architecture, drag-and-drop BlueBridge design software handles configuration, and BluePanel software builds custom end-user interfaces and programs wall controllers such as the BB-TOUCH7.
What warranty applies?
AtlasIED warrants the BB-168 for 36 months from the date of purchase. Creation Networks provides authorized fulfillment and pre-sale design support for commercial AV projects.
