Product Overview

The AtlasIED BB-1616 BlueBridge is a 16x16 DSP audio processor built for commercial AV installations that demand flexible routing, mic/line processing, and networked control from a single rack unit. With 16 software-selectable mic/line inputs and 16 line outputs on Phoenix-style connectors, it anchors networked audio DSP for conference rooms, courtrooms, multi-zone paging systems, and room-combining designs. Open-architecture, drag-and-drop programming gives system designers full control over signal flow without fixed-topology limitations, making the BB-1616 a strong fit for commercial audio signal processor installation across corporate, government, and worship facilities.

Product Description

The BB-1616 is the largest input/output configuration in the AtlasIED BlueBridge family, pairing high-quality THAT Corp microphone preamps with 24-bit converters for an ultra-low noise floor and clean, consistent audio. The 48kHz, 40-bit floating point DSP engine prevents the digital clipping common in fixed-point processors and provides the headroom to run advanced algorithms in complex system designs. Ethernet connectivity enables cost-effective TCP/IP audio control integration with third-party control systems, and each BlueBridge processor on the network is automatically recognized and controllable.

The processing toolkit covers what integrators actually deploy: gain-sharing and gating auto-mixers, matrix mixers, parametric and graphic EQ, anti-feedback modules, crossovers (Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley, Bessel at 6 to 48 dB per octave), compressors, limiters, duckers, delays, and signal generators. Four logic inputs/outputs support contact-closure integration with paging stations, fire alarm interfaces, and room sensors. The BB-1616 also works with Atlas BluePanel software, letting designers build custom user interfaces and program wall controllers such as the BB-TOUCH7 touch panel for volume, source selection, and room combining — end users get the control they need without direct access to the processor. AtlasIED offers pre-configured design templates through its BlueBridge training program, shortening BlueBridge DSP programming time for common applications such as video conferencing, presentation rooms, restaurants, and background music distribution. Key Features

  • 16 Input x 16 Output Configuration — Sixteen software-selectable mic/line inputs and sixteen line outputs handle large conference, paging, and room-combining systems from one chassis.
  • Open Architecture Programmability — Drag-and-drop design software lets integrators build exactly the signal chain each project requires instead of working around a fixed topology.
  • THAT Corp Microphone Preamps — High-quality preamps with software-enabled 48V phantom power deliver an ultra-low noise floor for speech and program audio.
  • 40-Bit Floating Point DSP Engine — The 48kHz floating-point engine prevents internal digital clipping and supports complex algorithm processing in demanding designs.
  • Ethernet and TCP/IP Control — Network connectivity enables cost-effective third-party control system integration and automatic device discovery on the network.
  • Comprehensive Processing Modules — Auto-mixers, matrix mixers, parametric/graphic/anti-feedback EQ, crossovers, dynamics, delays, and signal generators are all included.
  • Four Logic Inputs/Outputs — Contact-closure logic supports integration with paging, life-safety muting, and room control hardware.
  • BluePanel Custom Interfaces — Designers can deploy custom control pages and BB-TOUCH7 wall controllers so end users adjust only what they should.
  • Safety Listed to UL60065 — Compliance documentation supports commercial and government project specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the BB-1616 integrate with third-party control systems?

Yes. The BB-1616 supports TCP/IP control over Ethernet, so control processors from major manufacturers can send commands for volume, routing, presets, and muting. Each BlueBridge unit is automatically discovered once connected to the network.

Does the BB-1616 require a network to operate?

A network connection is required during setup and whenever remote control is needed, but the processor can run standalone after configuration. Optional BlueBridge control accessories such as wall controllers require a PoE network switch.

Are the inputs mic or line level?

All 16 inputs are software selectable between microphone and line level, with 48V phantom power enabled per channel in software. This allows a single unit to handle wireless mic receivers, program sources, and paging microphones.

What software is used to program the BB-1616?

The processor is configured with AtlasIED's open-architecture, drag-and-drop BlueBridge design software. Atlas BluePanel software adds custom end-user control pages and programs wall controllers like the BB-TOUCH7.

How does the BB-1616 handle room combining?

The matrix mixer and preset architecture support room-combine logic for divisible ballrooms, training centers, and multi-purpose rooms, with wall controllers or contact-closure logic triggering partition states.

What warranty does AtlasIED provide?

AtlasIED covers the BB-1616 with a 36-month warranty from the date of purchase. Creation Networks supports the order through authorized fulfillment and pre-sale system design assistance.

Is rack mounting hardware included?

The BB-1616 is a standard 19-inch wide, 1RU (1.75" tall) chassis designed for equipment rack installation in commercial AV head ends.
