The ATMASKSC addresses a specific need in sound masking installations: fine, repeatable level control at the zone or room level without disturbing the masking generator's DSP settings. Where most volume controls provide coarse level adjustment sufficient for music or paging, the ATMASKSC's 1dB incremental steps deliver the precision required for proper masking system calibration. The ten-position non-shorting rotary switch (with no physical end-stop) cycles through attenuation settings from 0dB to -9dB, which is specifically suited for trimming masking levels within the narrow range that keeps masking effective without becoming audibly intrusive. The unit interfaces via a 2 or 3 conductor connection, making it compatible with the M1000A35 as well as other 10k Ohm VCA systems using 2 or 3 conductor wiring. Maximum tested wire run is 500 feet on 22-gauge wire, allowing installation at practical distances from the masking speaker or controller without signal degradation.
