The AA-YSUM uses a 3-resistor summing network to combine the left and right channels of a stereo unbalanced signal into a single mono output while maintaining impedance matching compatible with most audio equipment inputs and outputs. This passive approach requires no external power and introduces no signal processing beyond the summing function itself. The 3-position Phoenix/Euro style connector on the output end is sized at 5.5mm and matches the input connectors used on Atlas Sound AA series mixer amplifiers, allowing direct connection without adapters. The two male RCA connectors on the input end accept standard consumer and prosumer unbalanced stereo signals from a wide range of source devices. In commercial distributed audio systems, available stereo inputs on a mixer amplifier are often limited while mono mic/line inputs may remain unused; the AA-YSUM allows those mono inputs to be used for additional stereo playback sources. The cable is 3 feet long, which is appropriate for connecting devices within the same rack bay or adjacent equipment. A 36-month warranty from date of purchase is included.
