Product Overview
The Atlas Sound 193-8-6 is an economical square back enclosure designed for 8-inch loudspeakers in suspended tile ceiling installations. The 6-inch depth provides adequate internal volume for standard BGM and paging speaker deployments while keeping the above-ceiling profile compact. With UL listing, BAA and TAA compliance, and a welded CRS construction, it is a practical choice for commercial, institutional, and government facility projects.
Product Description
The 193-8-6 enclosure features welded cold-rolled steel construction with a black enamel finish and internal undercoating applied to minimize mechanical and acoustical resonances during operation. Four compound conduit knockouts are provided on the backplate for flexible cable routing in varying installation configurations. Slotted mounting holes are designed to accept AtlasIED 180 Series support rails, enabling efficient installation in suspended acoustical tile ceilings without additional hardware. The enclosure accommodates 8-inch (203 mm) diameter loudspeakers and supports standard screw-mount baffle installation across a wide range of AtlasIED and compatible baffles. The overall dimensions of 9-1/2 inches by 9-9/16 inches by 6 inches deep place it within the footprint of a standard 2-foot by 2-foot ceiling tile grid. The unit is UL listed and meets BAA and TAA requirements, making it appropriate for public-sector and federally funded installations. The paintable surface allows the enclosure to be finished to match specific ceiling environments when required by design.
