The 161RES recessed enclosure is engineered to pair with Atlas Sound's VP161 Series vandal-proof baffles, creating a complete recessed mounting system for cone loudspeakers. The enclosure is constructed from 18-gauge stainless steel and features a non-painted natural finish that provides corrosion resistance without the risk of paint chipping in demanding environments. An undercoating treatment further protects the enclosure body from the inside out. The unit is designed to accept a wide variety of speaker and transformer combinations, giving integrators flexibility when selecting driver and transformer configurations for 70.7V or low-impedance systems. Installation requires cutting an appropriate rough-in opening in the ceiling or wall surface; the enclosure's dimensions accommodate standard speaker assemblies in the VP161 family.
